Monterey, Carmel and 17-Mile Drive Day Trip from San Francisco

San Francisco, California

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

From the moment we joined the coach until we departed at the end of the day we were well looked after by our driver/guide, John. His knowledge of the areas we were visiting was interesting and illuminating. Our timetable was clearly explained by him and pickup points/times throughout the day's tour were clearly set out. The coach was comfortable and since not all the seats were taken we could spread ourselves out with ease.
We had sufficient time in both Carmel and Monterey to explore. As an avid Steinbeck reader I was very interested in Cannery Row and the Doc's lab.
Good tour. Great scenery Good job, John.

San Francisco Super Saver: Muir Woods and Wine Country Tour

San Francisco, California

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Due to the Goverment shutdown Muir Woods was not open so we went elsewhere(Mill Valley?) where there were some sequoias( not as vast as those in the Calaveras where we went as an alternative to our Yosemite tour) We were only a party of 11 so Jesse soon had us on first name terms. We visited Sonoma where we had the opportunity to visit the mission which was historically interesting and were able to sample some cheeses and wines at the Sonoma Cheese factory(we also had lunch here as the barbeque smeel was delicious and we were not disapointed!)
More wine sampling was to follow at Madonna and Meadowcroft - both pleasant places to stop and some excellent wines to sample.
A good trip and well worth it Special thanks to Jesse.

Yosemite National Park and Giant Sequoias Trip

San Francisco, California

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

Due to the Goverment shutdown this tour was not available but we took the substiute trip to the Calaveras to see the giant sequoias there. Jim, our driver/guide did a good job of putting together an interesting day's tour We went through some of the old Gold rush towns stopping for lunch in the town of Murphys.Moaning Cavern was our next stop. Interesting! Onto Ironstone Winery to see the a very large gold nugget. Then finally to the sequoias at Calaveras- stunning with an easy path to follow. It would have been very quiet but for a very noisey party of French OAP's.
Jim is to be congratulaed on his efforts to make a good substute tour. Since the sequoias at Yosemite are not viewable at the moment as a result of the fire I'm glad we were able to see these and a lot of other interesting features. Good Job.
