Avoiding the queue saved as long as 4hrs at least, a sound investment, our guide was excellent; knew her subject beyond the normal patter, was amusing and respectful at the same time. Any devout visitors should however be prepared for the ignorance and lack of respect shown to their faith by visitors around them; Americans and those of Oriental origin do not appear to understand the concept of respect (silence and no photos) for the beliefs of others: I am not a religious person but could see the upset in others. An amazing experience made all the better for the quality of the input by the staff, maybe a warning somewhere in the literature/e-mails of the offence that some may feel might be appropriate, well done.
The experience of an alternative Rome was fantastic, our American-Italian guide was fun throughout and obviously knew his stuff, a talented entertainer with a remarkable ability to learn and use the names, origins and preferences of our group: a talented man!! All foodies should take the time to enjoy the experience and have a lot of "fun with food". A truly enjoyable and satisfying tour, value for money and more, to be recommended. Wear sensible shoes and don't eat a big breakfast!!!!!!!!!
