The basics

Kingscote’s highlights can easily be taken in on foot, starting with a walk along the coast to the Reeves Point Heritage site, where the Hope Museum tells the story of the original settlers. Take a stroll around the harbor, where pelicans and Little Penguins can be spotted along the shore, then head into the center to browse the shops or admire local handicrafts at the Kangaroo Island Art Gallery.

Kingscote is also often included on food and wine tasting tours of the island and is home to some of the island’s most popular artisan food producers. Enjoy wine tasting at Bay of Shoals Wines, visit the Emu Bay Lavender Farm or Clifford’s Honey Farm, or sample local brews at the Kangaroo Island Brewery.
