Personal guide was excellent. William took us to two sites before the ride to the island. Castle and Monastery visit were great, but wish we had more time to spend at the castle, which also has a wonderful museum attached.

My husband and I booked this trip and totally lucked out that it was just the two of us going. Werner was an excellent guide!!! I loved seeing the castle and the monastery. But, my favorite was when Werner so graciously stopped by his home town and showed us his local church- literally brought tears to my eyes to see the beauty. He also showed us around another quaint town and was a great tour guide. The only thing I would change would be to spend less time on the island with the monastery. Although we loved the walk around, there really isn't that much to do on the island. I would have spent more time in other places. Would recommend this tour and would totally recommend Werner. You will have a great time!

This was a very special tour - privately driven by Werner expertly and using his local knowledge to show us around Wassenburg and other areas before we arrived at Herrenchiemsee. His knowledge was expert and a great guide with just 4 tourists in the minibus so we were not overburden with other tourists. We were able to visit the lovely small island of Frauninsel before Herreninsel and King Ludwig's palace. What a glorious outing with the sun shining and plently of locals sailing on Chimsee lake. The palace was spectacular and even better than all his other palaces which we had been to before. Even the hall of mirrors was bigger and better than Versailles and being there with this private group we were not overpowered with other tourists. Mainly just locals that day. I cannot recommended this tour highly enough - it was a special tour before we returned to Australia. And Werner was so helpful - nothing was too much trouble for him and we really appreciated all the extra information he imparted to us. If you have time, this day tour is magnificent and worth seeing.

To our delight we had a 'private' two people tour with Werner to Herrenchieemsee. Picked up at our apartment on time, we were the only two on the tour. A beautiful drive through the country side and a magnificent view of a river walled town..time for a coffee and wander around....then because Werner was a local we visited his local village and church, a great local lesson. Then on to Herrenchiemsee to catch the ferry to the island and the palace. A wonderful guided tour, just amazing apartments that took approx 40 minutes. Then a boat ride back to the mainland and Werner was good enough to take us to a very special brewery/restaurant where we had a traditional Bavarian lunch...very special. A quick trip back into the city and home. Werner was a great host, full of information and just a nice guy to have as your host. Can't recommend this tour with Werner enough.

It was a lovely tour. Werner was a very good guide. He picked us up at our hotel on time, had a very comfortable minivan, and showed us some lovely places on our way to see Herrenchiemsee Palace. The carriage ride to the Palace was a great help to my husband who has trouble walking a distance.
