Diving the Cenotes itself was great. Aquaworld's staff left something to be desired.
They were very nice, nothing against them personally, but a lot of time was wasted. It took over 2 hours to get to the dive site, partially because we stopped at someone's house to pick something up and then stopped and waited 30 minutes to pick up another diver in Playa del Carmen.
Only 4 divers can go with 1 divemaster at a time, so we had to break into 2 groups and wait while the other group was diving.
After arriving at Aquaworld by 8am, I didn't actually get in the water until 1pm. ...5 hours, that's over the top for something that shoulda/coulda taken 2 1/2 hours.
Then dives were cut short, each being about 30 minutes and everybody still had over 1000 psi, some people still having close to 2000 psi at the end of the dive most had 1200-1400 psi left.
Both tanks that I had were leaking...1 poor O-ring, and one valve was leaking but I still had more than enough air with the short dives...it's just not very well maintained equipment they use. I didn't feel unsafe, but is a reflection of the quality of operation.
Lunch at about 3:30pm consisted of a homemade ham sandwich, bag of chips, bananna, and can of soda/bottle of water.
Other reviews are fairly accurate regarding the bathrooms, but if you can handle an outhouse, these actually have plumbing at least 1 of the 2 toilets that worked.
Water temperature was consistent at 77, great visibility other than when in the salt-water.
The dive itself is great and I would highly recommend it I'd just recommend trying a different company if you don't want to spend 10 hours for what should take 6 hours and you want to get the full length of your dives.
