Serena met us outside the central market and took us on a tour of the food market. Serena gave us some history on Florence as well as educated us on where the foods came from and what the traditions are in Italy. We picked up a few items that we needed for the cooking class.
There were three other couples in the cooking class. Prior to starting the class they served us espresso outside on the patio. The patio had fresh herbs growing around the patio.
Serena, our chef taught us how to make zucchini stuffed with meat as our appetizer, pici pasta as the main course and cantuci for dessert. What a fun class! Serena was a lovely person who was funny and very knowledgable. Her helper, Laura, was very nice as well. What fun it was to make our out pasta dough and roll out the pici. While we waited for the dough to set, they served us Prosecco.
After the meal was complete, we all sat at a table to enjoy our meal. Everything was delicious! They served us wine of course with our meal and homemade ice cream with our cantuci. We also had the option to dip our cantuci in our dessert wine.
My husband and I loved this class so much. It was one of the best things that we did in Italy. We highly recommend this class! Serena is such a wonderful person and it was so nice getting to know her!
Excellent in all aspects! I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to talk about excellent food and prepare it. We had a great class and extra attention as it was only my sister and myself! A definite highlight of our Italian trip!
WOW!! What a day. From the market tour to the lunch we prepared everything was exceptional. My husband and 3 grown children had a true Italian cooking experience with Michele and staff. He was so patient and informative. I suggest this as a must for your next Florence experience.
Absolutely wonderful. Rosanna was an excellent teacher, patiently working with each of us. We all came with different levels of cooking skill, and she managed the class so well that the four course dinner was one of the best I had in Italy. It was a wonderful way to spend Thanksgiving day. I highly recommend this course to anyone visiting Florence and looking for a unique experience.
