Great tour. Our guide Huy was really funny and informative. The boat trip was beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour to see some of the area outside Hanoi and to learn more about Vietnam's history.
The food at lunch was terrible greasy, cold buffet style.
No cycling was undertaken due to the weather and no boat in Tam Coc due to the weather, instead a boat in another area a lot less beautiful. No discount or refund as yet offered.
Coach was very tight and cramped and did the usual drop of at every location.
Tour guide average
Worst day on what was otherwise a brilliant trip to Vietnam
Once the trip was booked, I got an email from the organizer asking for 5 extra dollars per person because it was new year...
The bus was completely full and because there were only 2 seats left at the end of the bus we did not have space for our legs and the bus drive, over 2 hours, was extremely uncomfortable. The AC was on and very strong during the whole drive and the air vents where broken so we could not turn them off.
We were offered a complimentary bottle of water for the bus drive, the guide was good however his English was difficult to understand.
The temples were nice to visit, just make sure you cover your legs and arms, otherwise you won't be able to enter, some people from our tour could not go in because of their trousers' length.
We booked the tour with the bike ride included, which is more expensive, once we reached the place for the bikes, everyone took one and nobody checked anything, so I am pretty sure that if you don't pay for it you can still do it, as the bikes are there for anyone that arrives to use them.
The boat trip is way too long, with half of it, it would have been perfect, it is a very beatiful place, very relaxing, gorgeous scenery.
The drive back to Hanoi was better as some people stayed in Tam Coc and we could sit somewhere else, it was still too cold.
