Picked up at hotel on time by driver and arrived at airport with plenty of time to check in.
The Palmy Hotel and their staff were fantastic and very welcoming. All pick ups were on time, excellent communications with Hannah from the Asia Travel office. The cruise itself was nice and chilled out, guides were knowledgable and good fun, Frankie even gave us a personal concert with his guitar. Caves were very interesting, kayaking was relaxing and the views every morning were breathtaking.
BEST tour in Hanoi. Our tour guides Susu and Hana were amazing, drove safely, and gave us the best glimpse of Hanoi. I highly recommend this tour. This tour was definitely the highlight of our stay in Hanoi.
The bus was nice but TOO LONG. The canoe ride was ok...view was great. HOWEVER, the overly aggressive approach in obtaining tips ruined this trip for us. The boat rowers purposely steered us toward the snack boat in the middle of the river forcing us to spend 10 on mangos. After the boat ride they demanded tips which we were already planning to give them. Worst was when we got off the boat and had to use the bathroom. We did not know you had to pay and the lady chased us down demanding money.
The tour is all day and we felt like we wasted a precious day in Vietnam.
This is a great relaxing tour for those who are interested in seeing pottery/ceramic artists at work in some of the oldest and most established workshops in Vietnam.
after a 30 mins moped ride to the outskirt of Hanoi, you will embark on a walking tour through the old pottery village. You will pass through quiet alley ways to get to a few different shops. Each shop specialized in particular products, anything from giant vases to small anime/comic inspired statues.
You can pay one of the local villagers 40,000 vnd or so which is about 1.70, for a quick clay sculpting lesson and have a go at it.
The village has a big market where you can buy cheap and beautiful handmade products to bring home. No bargaining necessary!
You will also get a chance to see a vietnamese farmers market, ancient houses and temples, and a scenic view of the Hong river surrounded by rural communities.
The food was great, the other guests were fantastic company and the staff on the boat were brilliant.
However, we didn't visit Luon Cave, Titop Island, no beach opportunity or any signs of a beach stop.
No opportunity for bamboo boat by locals.
We were given kayaking opportunity, swimming in deep water, squid fishing, a visit to pearl factory, early tai chi lesson, followed by cooking class.
The visit to Surprising Cave was good, but actually did this on the second day.
When we were collected from our hotel, despite being 30 mins early which wasn't a problem , we were the only 2 guests on board who were left stationary outside the tour office for 50 minutes alone whilst waiting for tour guide.
Basically we were on the tour bus for 6 hours en route to Halong Bay.
Overall experience was poor.
I've given it a score of 1, due to food quality, staff on board the boat, company of other guests.
I only booked this due to the activities and locations of choice.
It didn't deliver my expectations, therefore make sure you get exactly the excursion in writing from the operator.
Luckily , I did, and I await their response, due to the fact that the local operator attempted to tell me this was not part of the itinerary.
I was actually made to look a fool by the operator when I questioned this in front of other guests.
Oh dear, I have the email trail, which may just look like I was correct and the suppliers are incompetent.
By far our best tour on this trip. Our guide Huyen Jasmine was one of the nicest people we have ever met. The cathedral was great and we even got a bonus visit to the bell tower. Then to Tam Coc for the boat ride to the caves. Relaxing and incredibly beautiful. While there is a lot of boats coming and going it can still feel like you're alone. Its so peaceful and quiet. Keep an eye out for mountain goats high in the cliffs we saw one and be wary of the floating sellers at the end of the river before heading back. Expensive and they will try and sell you stuff for your boat rower. Lunch was fantastic, tasty and abundant. Highly recommended and if you get Huyen as your guide it will be even better.
Enjoyable day although a bit disorganised at the start - late pickup and some confusion over taxis. Very pleasant place where the cooking was done, good variety of tasty dishes to cook.
very positive and interesting experience. I recommend it to everyone
An incredible and very enjoyable way to see Hanoi. The Rosa team are friendly and professional and it was like driving through the city with friends. At all times they were concerned for our safety and comfort. Highly recommend this tour.
