This tour was a bit of a snooze. The only parts I liked were going to the market and visiting Victoria peak. The boat ride in the beginning was boring and we weren’t provided any insight as to what we were looking at since the guide didn’t come and the women driving the boat didn’t speak English. Then we were taking to a jewelry store which is a total tourist trap and the sales people follow you like hawks. Waste of time. Our guide, Ken, was nice but I couldn’t understand his English very well. I would say skip this tour and do the hop on hop off tour instead.
Good tour to give you an exposure to Hong Kong if you do not have much time to spare. Tour started on time and our tour guide was very informative and enthusiastic. We liked the photographer and the driver was a safe one. Tour is kid friendly. Loved the tram ride. Visit to the diamond factory seemed a waste of time. Good stop at Stanley market for shopping. Also like the sampan ride (not included in package).
Fabulous tour. Our guide was so full of cultural information and Hong Kong trivia!!! Every stop and adventure was terrific except for jewelry factory. No one bought anything and it was obviously a payoff so that 45 minute time frame was bad and so not acceptable. I hate having to sit through a presentation to sell me something when Im paying for a tour. No one was comfortable in the jewelry factory and the salespeople trying so hard to make us buy left a very unsavory taste in my mouth.
This is a nice way to get to see some of the sights of Hong Kong in just a few hours. The trip up Victoria Peak is the highlight for the views of the city, though you do have to ignore the mall and touristy shops at the top.
This was a busy tour on a big coach. It took an hour to pick up all the passengers and get to our first stop on Hong Kong Island. This turned out to be the highlight the sampan cruise in Aberdeen Harbour. A contrast in ancient and modern living! Only half an hour on the water - would have enjoyed longer. The visit to the jewellery factory was short but the time in the showroom was lengthy. I did not buy here. Then we did a winding drive around Deepwater and Repulse Bay, both of which were lovely and historic, but I would have liked an opportunity to take some photos. We stopped in Stanley to see the market and the waterfront. The market was small and not attractive the goods for sale were not inspiring, nor were the restaurants. Our last stop was The Peak to enjoy the view of Hong Kong from 1300 feet up. The coach drove us to the top. It was breathtaking despite the mist and photography was my main concern. I was disappointed to find the commercialism on top two huge shopping malls. We were able to take the funicular down to the bottom and it was an exciting, if crowded, ride.
