I just don’t think it does justice to Bath or the Cotswolds to cram this much into one day. If Imcould do it again I would spend a whole day in Bath and one in the Cotswolds. Stonehenge can be done easily in half a day. The guide was very good.
Accessing the inner circle was amazing. I didnt mind that they broke the group in half as this allowed for better pictures and the time inside was sufficient to really get a feel for the scale of the site. The breakfast was good but I could have done with more time in bath instead. It was a little short and there wasnt enough time to take the whole audio tour. If Id planned better, Id have opted to stay and take a train back instead of the bus. Overall, well worth the money.
It's a long day, but definitely worth it. I did the evening tour of Stonehenge, so the day started with a trip to Bath. Bath is rather interesting and enough to see and do to not just stay at the Roman Baths. I would think it would make more sense to of had lunch in Bath rather than Lacock which was really lunch/dinner depending how you look at it at about 4:30pm. There wasn't much to do in Lacock after eating in the pub. You also don't get a chance really to eat again after Lacock and don't return to London unitl after 11pm, so you might want to grab some food whilst in Bath or pack something before you go. However, the highlight is Stonehenge. It was magical to be able to go into the middle of the stone, and to be able to take photos as the sun is setting. The tour guide was great, very knowledgeable and very interesting. I think improvements can be made to the first part of the tour, but visiting Stonehenge easily outweighed everything else.
This full day tour was everything we had hoped for! Beautiful coach bus transported us to amazing Bath for a incredulous step back into Roman times then onward to Lacock for a genuinely great meal at a 400+ year old pub! A beautiful sunset walking among the massive stones at Stonehenge was surreal. Perfect pictures on a perfect day!
This was an absolutely fabulous tour! We picked the evening tour and are so glad we did. The company was Premium Tours and they did a wonderful job with interesting commentary, appropriate stop durations, comfortable ride and amazing experience at Stonehenge. Lucy was our guide and Marty our driver. Lucy ran a tight ship and we made good time and were able to spend a little extra time at each stop. The first stop was Bath and we had plenty of opportunity to tour the Roman Baths Museum and also wander a bit and get a snack in the town square. Next was a visit to the village of Lacock. It was the dinner stop at the George Inn the oldest continuously operating inn, from 1392. The menu is limited and you order while still enroute to Bath and Lucy orders ahead. It was a cool, funky little place and everyone sat family-style at the tables. A great way to meet your bus-mates! The food was not gourmet, but it was good! Finally, you head to Stonehenge. I don't know what I was expecting when I booked the trip, but I guess I thought there would be multiple other buses doing the same thing. I wasn't expecting huge crowds, but I was expecting more than just our bus. Nope. It was just us. Me and 50 of my new best friends! Lucy takes you into the inner circle 25 at a time. She is an archaeologist by training and had tons of great information! We chose to go in with the second group and were so fortunate to be there at that time. The clouds had parted when we arrived and the sun was setting while we were inside. The photos were amazing. Then, Lucy brings everybody out and you can take photos without anyone else in the shot. Absolutely worth every penny for this tour!
