The pick up from our hotel was a bit late. Our drive over to Phuket Royal Marina was fine. The local operator was Crystal Sea Marine. As soon as we hopped out of the van we were split up into different groups then went to the tour office for a safety briefing. Coffee, tea, snacks and bathrooms are available. The pier has tons of shops so if you need a waterproof case for your phone or souvenirs you can get them here. We headed to the boat next. They make you take your shoes off to keep the boat clean and you don't get them back until the end of the day. There is a bathroom on board but I don't think anyone used it so I can't say how good or bad it is. They have a cooler with free water available. A life jacket, mask and snorkel are available for free and you can rent fins. I dont recommend sitting at the front of the boat because it takes an hour to get to the islands and the boat is not going slow so you'll have to deal with strong winds. Our first stop was monkey beach but this tour operators insurance doesn't allow them to let people off the boat because the monkeys can be aggressive. There was dozens of people from other companies interacting with the monkeys so if this is important to you don't pick Crystal Sea Marine. Next was snorkeling in the bay at Phi Phi Don for about 30 min. You don't have to wear a life jacket to go in the water. There was tons of fish and coral around. The further you swim from your boat the more fish species you'll see. Next was the lunch buffet. Free bathrooms were available here but you have to make sure to grab toilet paper from the sink area before heading into the stall. And you don't have your shoes for this part so I hope the bathroom floor wasn't too dirty. Most of the food was ok but the spaghetti was gross. You get 50 min to enjoy lunch. Next you are taken to Maya Bay where the sand was a lot softer than the beach at lunch time. After getting back on the boat we checked out viking cove and another bay which were OK. You end the day with more snorkeling and relaxing at Khai Island. You can rent jet skis from here and do some shopping. The tour provides you with some watermelon and pineapple. The sand here isn't very nice to walk on and the place is full of tours stopping by. I wish we would have headed back to Phuket after Maya Bay. Id rather relax at the beach by my hotel than be rushed around to coves and over crowded Khai island with people trying to sell me things. The staff was great and very helpful when it came to hopping on and off the boat. They made it clear what times to be back at the boat. I highly recommend having a waterproof bag. The whole boat gets wet when everyone climbs back in after snorkeling. Don't sit on the back seat of the boat because that's how everyone gets in and out. When you arrive back at the tour office you are split into groups and taken to your van for the ride back. Take cash for gratuities and they take your picture through out the whole tour which you can buy.
