We thoroughly enjoyed our day from start to finish, Chef Alessandri and his team were so passionate, helpful and we had a lot of fun - whilst learning how to make the most incredible food! Thank you for making our first visit to Rome both fun and educational, we can’t wait to replicate the recipes at home!!
I had such a nice time with Chef Alessandri, making pasta and other dishes. It was my last day in Rome, and definitely my best. We had lots to eat, along with wine. My personal best was the tomato sauce pasta - totally different from any other tomato sauce pasta I've ever had, and the gnocchi. I also got to learn many tips in cooking, which I could use in my other dishes.
If you like Italian food, even if you are not so much into cooking, I would definitely recommend this cooking class it will change what you think of Italian food. Also, it is the best thing to do before your long flight back home - no need for not-so-tasty in-flight meals! I would so much like to do another class if I return to Italy, especially in his new place in Umbria.
My wife and I scheduled for Easter Monday 2018. Due to a cancellation, we ended up with a private lesson in Chef's beautifully appointed professional kitchen in Travesterre within easy walking distance from Campo d' Fiori, where you shop beforehand. We are home cooks and had never made our own pasta, but Chef was a patient and excellent teacher and we learned a lot of tips and techniques we can use. One tip: Do not eat a big breakfast beforehand because you will get a lot of food, which tastes even better because you helped make it. Our best meal in Rome by far.
It was soooo helpful class to learn the right way to cook delicious food. Understanding why and how to do the techniques with professional real chef. Chef Federico was amazing, friendly, funny and perfect teacher. we really learned, enjoyed and ate. I strongly recommend anyone who plan to visit Roma to try this experience
Chef Alessandri was an amazing teacher with insights into cooking that kept me interested and involved throughout the day. He explained the chemistry of cooking the dishes as well as how to enhance the taste to the max. He shared little tricks to make the most of your time and utensils in the Kitchen. He was friendly and fun to be around. I am a good cook and still learned a lot. I highly recommend the Chef’s class for all skill levels. I will return for another class.
Federico and the whole experience with him was amazing! Started at a local market we walked to his kitchen and cooked a delicious 5-Course-Meal. He was really enchanting and had many tips and advices for cooking proper italian dishes. I highly recommend this cooking class! Thanks a lot! Marc and Sina
My tour was absolutely amazing! I met Chef Federico in a beautiful central part of Rome where we started shopping in the market. We then walked a few blocks to his professional kitchen where we learned authentic and delicious Italian dishes. The Chef is highly trained and qualified. I totally recommend!
This class was awesome! One of the best experiences of my trip. Chef Federico definitely knows what he's talking about. All of the food was amazing and the class was so much fun. I would 100 recommend this class!
This was one of the most interesting and enjoyable experiences I have had. My entire family loved it and Chef Alessandri is the main reason, as well as his assistants.
We started the day in the Rialto market and discussed what people were interested in cooking and we walked around the market gathering the items. We then proceeded to his kitchen/dining area in Trastevere and spent the entire day learning, laughing eating and drinking.
There were 8 people in our group and we had some good cooks in our group, including a young chef from Malta who was mesmerized by Chef Alessandri.
We all learned some amazing things and got our hands dirty making the different dishes. The dishes that we eventually ate were incredible and some of the special things the Chef prepared were better than most of the food we ate at some of the top restaurants in Rome.
I would strongly suggest that if you are interested in a cooking class that this is the only one in Rome you should consider. Chef Alessandri will not only amaze you with his cooking, but he will have you laughing and feeling like you are sharing a meal with friends, which to me is really the point of this type of tour.
Chef Federico was great. He was entertaining, knowledgeable, and put together a 5 Course lunch/dinner. He took his time and shared a lot of secrets. The only negative experience was when at the end he started to tell us stories about other tourists who did not tip him. Unfortunately this took away a bit from the experience for us.
