Driver made us walk quite a way to where he had parked his van. His demeanor seemed rather dour and his driving took us to our hotel via many twists, turns and side streets but still took a long time. Please note that we used this same company to take us to the airport and that driver was an absolute delight.
Terrible service on this transfer. Not in keeping with many prior Viator services we've used before. Our flight was slightly delayed due to weather en route. I believe we were about 30 to 40 minutes late. Van departed with other pax without us. Understandable. However, the next van to arrive some 30 to 45 minutes later refused to take us to our hotel because it wasn't in the same area as other pax. Waited another 30 or so minutes for another van who did take us. Why was a van sent that couldn't take us?
When we arrived at the airport after a long flight we had to look for our driver. When we found him he didn't acknowledge us and made us stand there. When my husband persisted he looked us up on his phone and finally said he was our driver. He actually picked up two additional passengers in the terminal who were randomly looking for a ride. This man had absolutely no personality. Stay away from this vendor!
The arrival is not the best. When booking through Viator, I was not given the proper instructions for the meeting point. It said the person for the shuttle will be in the domestic terminal with a sign saying Go Sydney Shuttle and that I may have to look for this person. After 20 minutes per instruction, I did not see this person. I called the company and they were like you need to wait at your baggage claim and they will come get me. A little later, the company called me and said your baggage claim pickup was 1 and I'm like no it is not, it is 3 and that is where I'm sitting. Then, he changes his story to say well there were other people he picked up from baggage claim 3, yet I never saw anyone. Eventually a driver came to retrieve me from baggage claim pickup. I do not appreciate the run around here and the poor instructions.
Not the best experience. We really didn't know where to meet the driver as we were told to go to the meeting place. We had the airport visitor information desk people call for us about this pickup point. Well, there was a painted wall that said MEETING PLACE that we were directed to. duh....we just didn't realize there was this actual spot. The driver did not show for about 30 minutes. So we stood around asking other drivers what to do...they said just wait here, your driver will find you. So, a bit uneasy not knowing what to do. Found another group of people 10 people waiting for this same company, so we just hung around together. So, the communication between a pickup person and us was not good. Since we were van-sharing, we still had to wait for 2 more to arrive. We waited over an hour. Not what we expected. By the time everyone was found and we got into the van, it was 1 1/2 hours before we were on our way. The driver was not the most professional looking person either nor was he very friendly or apologetic for making us wait for so long. I would go with another van service next time...in fact we chose a different service to return back to the airport.
My husband and I arrived in Sydney at 4:30 PM tired from fun trips in the Outback!!!! The driver was at the terminal with a sign!!! We followed him to the van and arrived at our Sydney Harbour Bed and Breakfast!!! The service was great!!! My only complaint was the driver was not friendly!!!!
It was hard finding the driver. I ended up calling the company using international charges in order to locate them. They should note in the instructions that they want people to be picked up by the Meeting Point sign next to the rental cars. This was not noted in my reservation. After locating the company, it was smooth sailing.
