Driver and tour guide were great! Tour was not 2 hours as described. Barely 90 minutes. Last time we did this we got off at more sites.
Our whole family experience was a memorable and great one. Our guide Nina was fun, knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming to a family of tourists in D.C. our Driver was great and each stop is a must see in this great city.
The night tour on July 26 with Sam was amazing. He had so much knowledge and history of our tour. The night to or was so relaxing and I enjoyed sitting on the top deck. Worth every penny! The 30 minute stop at Lincoln memorial was a nice surprise as well. Thanks Big Bus!
There were 5 of us, 2 Grandparents over 65, mother and 2 grandchildren 4 & 6. We loaded at Willard Hotel, July 20, around 7:00pm. On 3rd bus. Got to Union Station and found out ours was not included in the tour and would have to get on another bus. There were probably 5-6 other already loaded buses with a line of people on sidewalk. Decided to just include the bus. They were pulling out and we were telling tour guide on bus next to us that we had no guide. Bus stopped and we got a guide, sat there trying to get intercom working. Decided to go on still working on it. Stopped when never got it working and they were getting another bus. Stood waiting over 30 minutes. Bus came (partial cover, front) older and of course blowing air didn't worth _hit! It was the 50 th anniversary of the moon landing. Therefore we pretty much saw buildings and traffic! Saw Washington, Jefferson and White House. Got off at Lincoln for around 15-20 minutes. That was it! After11:30 and being taken back to where we started. Very disappointed that they schedule tours when they know special things are happening and NO lanes are designated for buses so you're sitting in traffic FOREVER.! Little children don't care about the buildings you're sitting in front of. Personally neither do adults after awhile. I felt so sorry for the bus driver and tour guide. Terrible timing!
Guide was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor---however, since it was spring time, natural light was predominant, and the beauty of the monuments lit up was not possible. My suggestion would be to visit the administrative sights before going to visit the monuments--better chance of seeing what you paid for.
We had a terrific time on the tour through Washington. About 15 minutes into the trip it started pouring down rain. Of course we were sitting on the top deck with no cover! Our guide got us all rain ponchos, and we honestly could not have had more fun. I will always remember my trip to DC! Tom Thompson was a fantastic guide.
My advice - do not take the winter night tour because if you don't get a seat in the first level this company does not care - they will fill also the uncovered second level. I paid for US227 for us to get frozen.
The tour was magnificent! We travelled with our two grandchildren and were reluctant to take the night tour thinking they
would fall asleep after a day of touring. We booked it because we had taken the same tour years ago and wanted them to experience DC at night. Much to our surprise they were wide awake. They were amazed at the sights and took many pics with their cameras. Best tour they took while in DC. A must see, you wont be disappointed!
