Very nice equipment for the tour

Amber picked us up at the cruise ship shuttle drop off in downtown Anchorage;on time and clearly identified. We covered a lot of ground seeing historical sights as well as scenic vistas. Amber was well informed and shared her enthusiasm of the Anchorage lifestyle with us. Plenty of stops for pictures and refreshments if we wanted. Well worth the money.
3 hour private tour in Anchorage for 9 family members
, ago 2018
Our guide, Dawn, was excellent. We had a great tour. We were celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary, had taken our two daughters, their husbands and grandchildren 9, 11, and 15 on a cruise to Alaska. We wanted to see Anchorage before heading home and Dawn did an outstanding job.
The tour was great and the guide gave a lot of useful information. Only problem was as we were leaving the tour one of the party was confused and did not know that the tour had been paid for in full. The person paid him again in full and the guide did not say anything. Great tour, poor form.
TOUR OPERATOR COMMENT: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and write a review about your Anchorage Private 3 Hour Tour. We are glad you had a great time with us and that you enjoyed your tour with Bill. We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding experienced by one member of your party. I see that your group size was 10 people and that your tour price was $345. When your party member handed our guide $40 in cash, unfortunately they did not mention that they were attempting to pay for the tour. Our guide believed it was a gratuity from a satisfied guest and thanked them accordingly. It is very common for our guides to receive tips of this amount after a successful tour. We take pride in conducting ourselves in a fair and honest manner and we feel terrible that this misunderstanding occurred. We will strive to learn from this situation and take the necessary steps to ensure that this does not happen again. Thank you for helping us to better serve future guests.
First off, our tour-guide Kristen, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly and she was great with our three year old. Tours with a toddler can be tough potty breaks, boredom, etc and Kristen accommodated for us very well. Regarding the tour, having never been to Anchorage, it sounded pretty exciting... But, Anchorage is actually not that exciting, especially when it's cloudy and rainy, which it was all the day of our tour. Can't control the weather. I very much enjoyed learning the history of Anchorage as well as the contemporary oddities that set it apart from the lower-48. I would recommend the tour. However, since it is a private tour and thus flexible, I'd recommend they offer some alternate points of interest if the stunning vistas are not visible due to weather.
We loved our Anchorage tour with Kristen - 3 of us are retired teachers, and all 8 of us bonded with her immediately. She managed to take us everywhere on the list and also work in additional photo ops for me at scenes from my high school days. Her lunch recommendation was brilliant, and her sharing of information regarding local history and issues was most welcome. Top marks all around!
We went on this private tour during our short stay in Anchorage before traveling north to Talkeetna, Denali, Healy, Fairbanks and Artic Circle. Loved the tour and the different activities that were included Cook Inlet, Flattop Mountain, Potter Marsh Bird Sanctuary, Lake Hood, Earthquake Park, Resolution Park, Ship Creek, Beluga Point with Turnagain Arm, and Point Woronzorf. I would highly recommend for people staying in Anchorage to take this tour early in your vacation to get an ideal of what you would like to go back and see because we did not stay at anyplace very long. Our driver was excellent and gave us a history of Anchorage and the points of interest he took us to. He even took us to see Star the reindeer.
This tour done by GREENLAND ADVENTURES was EXCELLENT from every point of view and our guide BILL was an extremely well prepared professional ,very knowledgeable and an interesting person.Highly recommendable
