This was, so far, the worse tour I have ever been to. Pick-up time is advised to be 30-60 min prior to 8:00, however the day before when I called to confirm, time for my hotel was set up for 8:00 I though it is late already!. The bus arrived to pick me at 8:45 - without any verbal excuse from the guide We have then spend another 50 min picking up the rest of the guests and arriving to the spot. When we arrived, it was heavy raining nothing the tour guide could change, though. I wore long leggings, so I had to buy a skirt in front of the temple. I though leggings are pants and are therefore OK - but I have been told contrary. We waited 20 min in the rain to get in. We have entered the temple around 10:00. We had another one and half hour to make pictures inside, but the thing was so over-crowded almost everyone spend whole time watching out for proper belongings and constantly drying out the camera. When we finished, tour guide realized we have lost one family. Therefore, we spend another half hour waiting outside, in the rain, to get them back that is not his fault either. After, they brought us - all completely wet - to a souvenir shop that was announced as last 20 min stop. Again, we have been stuck there for more then an hour. I arrived back to the hotel before 13:30, therefore the clear time for visiting the cultural monument was 1,5 hour - the rest was waiting, shopping, losing nerves and moving from one spot to another. The guide was nervous because people were obviously unsatisfied. He did not even said goodbye. Ohh and small group in their understanding means 2 minivans together, therefore, aprox 30pax. I am tour guide myself. This was a disaster.

On my last day in Bangkok I was excited to participate on this tour of the renowned Grand Palace. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. On the plus side the tour is convenient in that it provides hotel pick-up and drop-off we had 1.5 hours inside the Grand Palace to both roam on our own and to have our guide Oye sp? explain the sights and the small van was comfortable for our group of 9 who were on the tour. The major issue I have are that the majority of the 4 hour tour time was spent in the van traveling around picking up guests, driving to a meeting point to swap guests, driving back and forth to the Grand Palace, and being dropped for an excessive amount of time at a souvenir shop. The hotel pick-up was 20 minutes late where I cooled my heels in the lobby. Our guide facilitated getting tickets at the Palace and navigating us through the proper entry line for non-Thai visitors. She also provided some nice explanations for portions of the tour. We were given about 40 minutes to tour the Temple of the Emerald Buddha on our own and to peruse the other temple buildings around it. I like the idea of having some unstructured time to be on your own, however I felt the guide should have ensured each of us had a Palace map in the proper language to get around and understand what we were looking at. The Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha temple are phenomenal and should not be missed on your touring of Bangkok. I felt this tour could have been much better coordinated and conducted to provide a higher degree of customer satisfaction.

Grand Palace is quite popular and very crowded... but it is still a must see and it was very convenient to go with this tour group with the knowledgeable guide. Very convenient being picked up and dropped off at my hotel.
