Overall, great tour with a great tour guide. The history about the Bridge over the river Kwai and the Thailand-Burma Railway was eye opening. Highly recommend this tour and suggest you upgrade on the train ride.
Long way to see a bridge...but

It’s a long way to see a bridge pick up time was early 1 hour to coach station were you boarded a small coach 21/2 hours to the museum which is disappointing very small ,then a 10min boat which was fab very fast wanted it to be longer . You then arrive at the bridge which is amazing but your there only 20mins not long enough then 11/2 on a train which was lovely worth the upgrade you pay extra for. Would of liked to take the train back rather then the coach as it wasn’t very comfy 31/2 hours back lunch was surprisingly good . Would I go again, I’m not sure it is worth it but the travelling not so much be prepared!

Tour pickup was punctual and the subsequent departure of the group was on time. The guide was informative and the bus was clean, not the most plush but ok. The timing of activities was good for the most part. A bit rushed to make the boat and train ride but still ok. Would have preferred a different rest stop on the way back. Not great for buying refreshments and the drive back is long. Overall I was happy with the tour.

Overall the tour itself was interesting and enjoyable. What we disliked: The boat ride we didn’t expect to be a high speed trip, we could barely open our eyes due to wind and water spray. The coach was really dirty and old, the chairs were broken, and to a point it felt unsafe (not the driver, he was great). Being such a long journey, and an hour later back due to the horrendous Bangkok traffic as well, the coach journey really spoilt it.

This was a well organised trip and carefully timed so that we got the most out of it. We were taken to a Second World War cemetery and a museum to explain the background to the Bridge. We experienced the Bridge in three ways - sailing under it by motor launch, walking across and travelling over it appropriately by train. The trip was rounded off by a wonderful buffet lunch.
Great day out

The guide was excellent with a dry sense of humour. All went very well and there was enough time to see everything. It was a pity that we all paid the extra for guaranteed seats on the train when it was half empty - in fact all the seats seemed to be at an extra charge (althoughwe did receive a food box, a drink and a certificate. The boat trip up the river was very good and the buffet lunch well prepared and plentiful. All round a very good day out.

Trip is good, ride on Burma railway a real experience. War graves made you think of everyone who had died, so young. Felt museum visit was rushed we did not get to see it all!
