I have to be honest, you are on the bus A LOT. I can't say this isn't spelled out for you in the description, but be warned, you view a lot of Scotland through a window. My recommendation would be if you only have 3 days or less in Edinburgh, this is one of the longest bus tours of the other areas of Scotland so it's probably your best bet to see other parts of the country. BUT, if you have more time, rent a car and avoid the bus tours to allow yourself more freedom and time to actually experience the highland. The Hairy Coo company lives up to its name. You spend an oddly proportional time looking at hairy cows. On this particular trip, we were on the bus about 70% of the time, 10% in the distillery and 10% in Loch Ness. The remaining time we spent pettings cows and taking 5 min stops at Glencoe and one war monument. Most of what you see on the tour is "on your right hand side beyond the trees" for a split second as you drive down the highway. I don't blame the company for this, but anyone planning on taking this tour and thinking they could possibly get a lot of time in these places is mistaken. This is your standard bus tour with punny jokes and silly music. Felt a little childish for the adults in the group but if you like corny facts and self-deprecating humor, then it was a great trip. Again, if you only have a limited short time to see Scotland, this is an efficient but brief way to see a lot for a little bit of time. Otherwise, seek a more immersive approach.

Awesome Rose

Rose was outstanding and funny. She is actually a package of a good driver, story teller and a historian. She had planned the 12.30hrs/around 330 miles tour very conveniently and no rush at any spot. My wife and I had a great time seeing Deanston distillery, Highlands, Loch Ness cruise and beautiful Scotland. Definitely recommend this tour specially with Rose. Cheers!
Taste of Scotland in one action-filled day

John, King in the North, was a hilarious and knowledgeable guide! He should have his own comedy show! We were able to see the beauty of Scotland's Highlands, enjoy a cruise across the gorgeous Loch Ness, feed carrots to hairy coos, and stop for both much-needed bathroom breaks and photo spots!
Wonderful experience

A bucket-list tour with a top-notch guide

My husband, mother and I enjoyed an incredible trip with our wonderful guide Stephen from The Hairy Coo. The bus was comfortable and clean, and Stephen navigated it expertly despite some narrow roads. He was very knowledgeable about Scottish history, and kept us entertained the entire time. While we were on the bus, he alternated between telling us about the history and playing DJ from a list of Scottish musicians. Each stop -- the Distillery, Glencoe, Loch Ness -- was well-organized and according to the schedule. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience and I urge anyone planning a trip to Edinburgh to add this day trip with the folks from the Hairy Coo. You won't be sorry!
Not good as expected

Only two stops with two hours at lochness for boating and rest of the whole day in bus!! That makes this trip little tiring. Our guide was Colin from Hairycoo travel, and he was non stop talking in loud voice which was really annoying!!! They could have added more stops to make this trip enjoyable. Go for this trip only if u like to see places by sitting in bus.
Awesome Highlands tour with knowledgeable and hilarious guide

I had a blast on the Hairy Coo tour to the Highlands! Our driver was John and he was absolutely hilarious the whole time. He kept the energy in the bus up at all times while he regaled us with stories about Scotland, its history, and his own experiences. The tour of the distillery was pretty cool though it would've been even cooler if they had actually been producing whisky when we went (it was the off season). The boat ride on Loch Ness are relaxing and you had enough time to walk around the town for a bit before as well. One of the highlights was the busaraoke (bus karaoke) in the afternoon while we were driving back to Edinburgh. It was a long day but really worth it and also had just the right amount of stops in between all the driving so you didn't feel too cooped up in the bus.
