Easy pick up from our hotel by an excellent driver and taken the 25min journey to the Salt mines. The driver collected our tickets and handed us over to one of the Salt Mine tour guides. The tour guide was excellent, his English was impeccable and he was very knowledgable about the Salt mines. The tour took about 3 hours and the driver then took us back to the city. The whole day was about 5 hours long. The taxi to the Salt mines there was 6 people but the tour of the Salt mines consisted of about 15 people.
The Salt mine was an excellent tour with lots of really interesting information from our guide Michael. I can confirm that the walls actually do taste like salt! It's incredible all of the statues and the chandeliers made from the salt. Our favourite part was probably listening to Chopin by the salt water. We'd definitely recommend a visit and perhaps if we went again, we'd take the advice of our guide at a different tour and count the steps on the way down stops you feeling so dizzy!
Recommendations: try and stick closer to the guide as sometimes the earphones cut out due to signal being underground so we didn't always hear what was being said, but what we did catch was very funny/interesting and we'd recommend Michael!
Tour was brilliant very interesting and I would thoroughly recomend it. Expert guide who was very knowledgeable and funny. We were picked up from our hotel and driven to the salt mine by a very friendly drive who was there to meet us after our tour finished and drove us back to our hotel
Our guide picked us up directly at our hotel. Instead of a giant bus we were joined by others to be a small group of 12 I now a mini-bus/van. Our guide walked us right where our tour started tour is run by the salt mine. Tour group within the mine had about 30 people and then picked us up when we were done. Our guide was knowledgeable and professional. It was worth it to us having the less crowded/more personal ride out to the salt mines. The salt mines themselves are a unique, interesting place to see.
