wonderful tour, saw many places, had fun with sunboard and BBQ, pinnacles is wonderful.
very annoying was the narrow small not comfortable at all mini bus, for a day of 12 hours trip
The tour was good for the most part, but it definitely could've been better. For starters, we flew to Perth just for this tour and we didn't have any accomodations planned besides this tour. The morning of the car didn't show up on time. When we called the company they told us the tour would no longer be taking place because of van trouble. They offered to refund our money for the tour, but offered no assistance with finding us somewhere to stay for the night. We then ended the call, devastated. As we were trying to figure out what to do, we received a second call from a completely different person who said the van was having trouble but would be on its way soon. We were incredibly confused. We called back the number we had and they confirmed this. After about 2-3 hours past the designated pick up time the tour guide showed up. As far as the tour itself went a lot of the things we saw were a lot of fun and really cool. However, the tour guide was incredibly ill-informed and overwhelmed. He just seemed like he was new and hadn't been properly trained. More than once he got lost while driving us to our destination. I don't blame him, I just don't think he was ready to give a tour by himself.
This trip is a good one if you haven't seen the bush. I took this from Perth and it was a long drive there but it was broken up by the visit to the Caversham Wildlife Park where we fed Kangaroos and pet the wombat and koala bear. The scenery was nice and the guide was knowledgable and personable. However I would have preferred that she had an intercom so she could have given commentary to the group while driving through the bush. We were a smaller group so I don't know if that is why there was lack of intercom in the van. We stopped for a bbq and were able to walk along the beach on the Indian Ocean for a bit. The food was good and everyone seemed happy with the bbq. Then we headed off to the Pinnacles which were beautiful and mysterious. Be super careful while you are there to follow the trails as it can be very disorienting at times when you are hiking through them and use bug repellent, there were flies. Afterwards, we went to sand surf and I was disappointed because 1 there weren't enough surf boards for everyone, 2 there wasn't enough wax for the boards, 3 the boards were scarred and in horrible shape so they didn't slide over the sand well. There were other groups there who had newer boards and they were flying over the sand. I went down once and it was so anti climatic that I didn't think it was worth climbing the hill again for it especially as there wasn't any wax left to use on the board.
This trip was mostly hellish.
The guide, Mel, had no leadership skills and even fewer social skills. She didn't think it necessary to lock the van until I made it necessary. The luggage carrier we pulled had NO locks at all.
The van, in which we would spend 5 or 8 or 10 hours traveling a day was dirty, filthy seats soooo uncomfortable, the a/c didn't work efficiently and for the first few days, 12 of us were crammed into this shockless road hazard.
The ice chest did not have ice so no cold water for the trip no saving leftovers. The food was terrible. Breakfast was continental...cereal and bread. No fruit, no eggs, When food especially peanut butter ran out...NO replacement. The last morning was pancakes made when adding water to the pre-mix! Pizza alone is not dinner!
The hostels were, for the most part, less then adequate. The farmstay was a joke. I did choose the dorm style but did not think it would be coed with 7 of us in a room for 4 night. Beware if you pay hundreds of dollars to up-grade, you have a dorm room to yourself but the bathroom is farther away, in most cases.
Some of the stops were just an excuse to break up the driving.
I am very, VERY sorry I spent time and money on this trip!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very interesting and very beautiful tour. Well organized. Unforgettable day.
Great tour guide, really informative. Saw a lot but didn't get to spend more time in some places I'd have liked to, I guess that's the disadvantage of doing a tour
We love the Pinnacles Day Trip! It was the best trip out of our entire stay in Perth. Our favorite is the sandboarding. My kids loved that! The Pinnacles was great fun too and we loved the barbeque lunch. Caversham Wildlife was nice but it is a small park and we only had a very limited time there. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend it to others!
I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Pinnacles were definitely worth seeing, and the sand boarding was amazing. Thanks to Paul our guide who did a great job showing us around and keeping is entertained.
Enjoy the trip. Excellent experience for sandboarding and Pinnacles is really great and unique.
The trip was very enjoyable, our tour guide/ drive - Paul was wonderful.
definately recommend this tour to my friends
Great fun day, not enough time at wildlife park. Bus was not very clean.
The trip to all places was worthwhile! Thanks to our trip leader, Carlya, everything went very well!
She's a wonderful leader!!
This was one of the first tours that I took in Australia and it was a lot of fun- especially Caversham Wildlife Park where you get close up with wildlife including kangaroos and koalas. The pinnacles desert was an unique experience as well and the sandboarding was a lot of fun!
The tour was exactly as described. Very friendly guide. The weather was not the best for it but awesome anyway. Good lunch food.
