Start the day with morning pickup in Adelaide, then travel by air-conditioned coach through the southern suburbs to McLaren Vale.
Stop for morning tea before arriving at your first cellar door of the day, Wirra Wirra Vineyards. Take a short tour of the wine cellars, then taste a range of their fine wines. Keep an eye out for the ¾ tonne Angelus Bell and the ‘catapult’ that decorate the gardens near the tasting room.
Have a 2-course lunch at Red Poles, which features fresh, local produce. The restaurant also has an art gallery and cellar door where you sample local beers or wines (own expense).
In the afternoon, go wine tasting at d’Arenberg Cellar Door, followed by Hardy’s Tintara. You then have a choice to explore the main street of McLaren Vale or taste more wines on your own.
On the journey back to Adelaide, pass through the seaside Glenelg suburb where can leave the tour, or continue by coach to Adelaide.
