We had the best day on this tour with our guide Natalie. The transportation was comfortable and ample time was given at each stop. We really enjoyed the amazing scenery and got some exceptional photos!
Great tour to the lavender fields. Our driver took us to spots around the fields that maximized out opportunities for great pictures. Highly recommended!
Greg was our guide. Excellent guy, very knowledgeable, flexible and fun. The tour destinations were fantastic, and the small group of people on my trip were very nice also.
Just do it.
Fairly easy to get to the meeting point even if you're coming from Nice like what I did 2 1/2 hour flixbus ride. The meeting point, which is the Apple store is in the center of town by the big fountain and the market, is rather easy to get to. You get into a big van and the guide takes you an hour outside of Aix first to the L'Occitane factory then to two lavender fields. The second one includes sunflowers! The final stop is a small French village in Provence which feels a world's away from the hustle and bustle of Aix and the Riviera. The biggest disappointment in my opinion was that the lavender is not everywhere like you'd expect. It's a crop like corn. My biggest annoyance was when some of the group members and the guide kept discussing politics in the van. This was rather inappropriate as I didn't sign up for this tour to hear about politics, I signed up for lavender. Finally on a positive note, Victorine, our tour guide, was very prompt in returning us back to the meeting which I appreciate since I had a tight connection in terms of using trains to return to Nice.
This tour was absolutely amazing. Nathalie was a magnificent guide who explained everything to us and took us to some amazing lavender fields and a distillery. We also stopped at Luberon, Sault and Monieux. Breathtaking views. We had a great lunch in Sault and everyone was friendly. Enjoyed lavender ice cream and cocktails. The prices in Provence are very reasonable. Take cash as the small towns do not accept cards. If you have the opportunity to visit the lavender fields, please do. One of a kind experience. Bees buzzing everywhere in the fields. Beautiful nature experience. Comfortable van.
The tour was wonderful and especially our driver-guide Natalie. It was a dream come true to visit the lavender fields!
My only criticism is that the last village stop in Monieux should be dropped to allow more time in Sault for a leisurely lunch and more time to shop.
Beautiful lavender. Guide was very knowledgeable about lavender types and distillery process.
I had a great time at the All day tour to valensole to the lavender fields,
I loved this tour! It was my favourite thing in Aix en Provence. Our tour guide was lovely, very chatty and knowledgeable. It was a small group of 8, perfect size. We went to two different lavender fields and a lovely old village, the fields are absolutely beautiful and made for some great photo ops. I would definitely recommend this tour.
We had a great time seeing all the lavender fields! Our guide knew a lot of history and was very friendly. It was a short trip with a lot of driving, but a great way to see the beauty of the region on a quick vacation.
Well the alien village was quite something, sadly no alien sighting! Fun, humorous guides. Everything one could expect.
This tour was absolutely great. I am always weary about doing day tours but my guide was fantastic, incredibly knowledgeable and flexible with what we wanted to do on our tour. I went back and forth on doing the full day or half day, I absolutely recommend the full-day, otherwise you'd miss so many gorgeous places!
This was the most amazing tour! Gaelle was terrific....and wow what an excellent driver on those corkscrew roads!!
We learned about the different types of lavender and also to identify them. It was a full day...but one of magnificent sights, smells and delight. The Town of Ste. Moustiers was charming...wish we had more time to wander around the streets and boutique shops. I would suggest you pack a simple lunch because the restaurants were not prepared for the crowds and the service was very slow. We opted for ice cream to eat along the way and a glass of wine just at the end of our time there. The Town has a reasonable sized stream and it brings waterfalls and trickling water down the sides of the rocks. Flowers abound. We got some great pics. Verdon Gourge is a sight you simply cannot afford to miss...breathtaking! The man made lake is also beautiful.....but both the shore and lake bottom are 100 small stones, 2-4 oval and smooth but tough on the feet. Pack your water shoes if you intend to put your feet in the water. The water was warm...felt like about 75 degrees. This is a wonderful tour and worth every penny.
Perfect for anyone who doesn't want a typical tourist tour that's just the right length. Breathtaking scenery. Tour guide a pleasure!
My friend Sue and I loved our Provence Lavender Fields tour! Valerie was very informative and patient with us. She did everything! She was the tour guide, the driver difficult winding back roads up and down into beautiful valleys and up into breathtaking mountains. Her English was sometimes difficult to understand. She was able to go back and forth with several languages and seemed to satisfy all 8 of us on the tour. I would go back on any tour from Viator.
Wonderful leisurely tour of the lavender fields with plenty of time to take pictures and enjoy the natural beauty and aromatherapy. Tour guide friendly and knowledgable

Our comedic, dedicated, and highly knowledgeable guide, Greg, is both a French and American national who worked as an IT in California. Our tour with him is everything about the lavender of Provence plus more! He brought us to several lavender fields in Sault, the lavender capital of Provence! Our visit to a lavender distillery and lavender harvesting in action were very educational. We also went to Saignon and Monieux, two small lovely medieval villages. Overall, it was a great way to end our trip to Provence.
WE LOVED OUR LAVENDER TOUR. OUR TOUR GUIDE GREG WAS AMAZING. SEVERAL OF THE FIELDS WERE ALREADY CUT WHEN WE ARRIVED IN AIX, AND GREG KNEW WHERE TO GO THAT THE LAVENDER WAS STILL IN BLOOM. HE ALSO WAS AN AMAZING PHOTOGRAPHER-HE TOOK PICTURES OF EACH OF THE PEOPLE IN OUR GROUP. THE TIME FLEW BY AS WE ALL VISITED ON THE DRIVE TO AND FROM AIX. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR AND GREG!
We enjoyed this small group trip to the lavender fields very much. Greg, our guide, was great - he was very personable, funny and made the day very enjoyable with all his information/anecdotes on the countryside we drove through. We visited many lavender fields and Greg knew where the best ones were - they were picture postcard perfect and the smell was amazing. Greg made sure there were lots of photo opportunities along the way too. As well as regular lavender fields, we visited fields where lavandin was growing - before this trip we had no idea what the difference was. By the time the tour was finished, my husband and I were wishing we had booked the full day trip. Perhaps another visit to Provence!! We highly recommend this tour - we would take it again in a heartbeat!!
Absolutely amazing! By far THE most incredible sights and experience I've ever seen. LOVED it!!!
Excellent tour! Our guide, Nathalie, was extremely well-informed. The lavender was in full bloom and was spectacular. I have never seen anything like it. It was a highlight of my 5-week trip through 4 countries in Europe.
This was a wonderful tour. Throughout the day, we passed by countless scenic lavender fields some were right next to the sunflower fields as well making them all that more attractive thanks to our tour guide Greg who knows where all the beautiful fields are. In the afternoon, we also had the chance to stop by and swim at lake St. Croix at the Verdon Gorge. The view there was just breathtaking and I'd dive in and swim at the lake again in a heartbeat!
We had an amazing time on the full day trip! It was truly the highlight of our 3 week trip around Europe. We were in a small group of 8 people. Greg our tour guide was wonderful! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. I also appreciated that he gave us some choice as to how long we could stay at each site. The only change would be a little more time in Moustiers. 2 hours was only enough time to eat and I would have liked to shop around and enjoy the view.
