Your adventure begins at the tour office, located on Jiron Puno near the Chachapoyas main square, where you’ll greet your guide at 8:30am and board a vehicle destined for Kuelap.
Midway through the 2-hour journey, you’ll stop at Marco to admire a group of pre-Inca dwellings and burial chambers built on the side of a mountain.
Then, at around 11pm, you’ll arrive at the historic fortress of Kuelap, considered one of the most important archeological sites in northern Peru. Enter the fortress through a door in its 65-foot (20-meter) walls and appreciate the ruins of more than 400 houses and ceremonial buildings alongside your guide.
