Centraal Station (Pass By)

Amsterdam Centraal (Dutch pronunciation: [ɑmstərˈdɑm sɛnˈtraːl]; abbreviation: Asd) is the largest railway station of Amsterdam, Netherlands. A major international railway hub, it is used by 162,000 passengers a day,[1]making it the second busiest railway station in the country after Utrecht Centraal and the most visited Rijksmonument of the Netherlands.[2][3] National and international railway services at Amsterdam Centraal are provided by NS, the principal rail operator in the Netherlands. Amsterdam Centraal is the northern terminus of Amsterdam Metro Routes 51, 53, 54, and stop for 52 operated by municipal public transport operator GVB. It is also served by a number of GVB tram and ferry routes as well as local and regional bus routes operated by GVB, Connexxion and EBS. Amsterdam Centraal was designed by Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers and first opened in 1889. It features a Gothic, Renaissance Revival station building[4] and a cast iron platform roof spanning approximately 40 metres. Since 1997, the station building, underground passages, metro station and the surrounding area have been undergoing major reconstruction and renovation works to accommodate the North-South Line metro route, which was opened on 22 July 2018. Amsterdam Centraal has the second longest railway platform in the Netherlands with a length of 695 metres.

Het Scheepvaartmuseum| The National Maritime Museum (Pass By)

The museum is dedicated to maritime history and contains many artefacts associated with shipping and sailing. The collection contains, among other things, paintings, scale models, weapons and world maps. The paintings depict Dutch naval officers such as Michiel de Ruyter and historical sea battles. The map collection includes works by 17th-century cartographers Willem Blaeu and his son Joan Blaeu. The museum also has a surviving copy of the first edition of Maximilianus Transylvanus' work, De Moluccis Insulis, the first to describe Ferdinand Magellan's voyage around the world.

We had a tramway problem and it was impossible to reach the operator. Nobody on watt's app, the two phone number were not working. We couldn't do the activity and any refund possible. We were very disapointed.
Response from Host, Mar 2023
Hi Emma, that sounds like bad luck. Can you please send a email to info@stromma.nl with your bookingsinformation and what happend. Then we can look into it. Thank you. Best Regards, Stromma Netherlands

It was way too crowded on the boat. There was minimal personal space. The windows continued to get foggy and it was hard to see through the windows. Also, the service was not great. People started to serve themselves because the waiters never came.

Fun trip with a Top Notch Crew
Elizabeth_K, Jul 2022
This was a fun way to see the coastline of central Amsterdam. A comfortable boat with an able and wonderful captain. Captain Billy....she was worth her weight in gold; not only a topnotch skipper but also a funny, knowledgeable guide.. Cheese was not the best but the lovely crew kept the wine coming, and it was not bad. Lots of good information passed on in a beautiful setting.

Excellent value for money
Ian_S, Jun 2022
An interesting and relaxing way to get the feel of Amsterdam. The guide didn't talk too much, giving just the right amount of detail about each interesting area. The cheese was tasty and our wine glasses were kept full throughout.
Response from Host, Jun 2022
Thank you Ian, glad you enjoyed it! An empty wine class is never a good idea ;)

Relaxing on the Water with Wine and Cheese
Edward_T, Apr 2022
The Wine and Cheese tour was nice. The wine was good and plentiful. The cheese and nuts and other snacks were great. Service was great and commentary was interesting. What a great way to take an interesting and very relaxing canal tour.
Response from Host, Apr 2022

Best way to see the beautiful Amsterdam canals!
AmandaMartina_P, Apr 2022
The team were so friendly and attentive without being invasive during the beautiful trip around Amsterdam’s canals. The boat itself was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The cheese was good but we could have done with some crackers or pickles, however the free flowing (decent) wine more than made up for it! It was a memorable, fun activity and very good value for money. Well done to all involved and many thanks.
Response from Host, Apr 2022
Thanks for the love. Good to hear that you had a great time!

Don’t go on this trip!
Marianne_D, Apr 2022
Terrible with NO narrative to follow the cruise - no headphones or anybody saying anything about the landmarks. Complete silence. No candlelight and no serving of wine almost. Very bad trip
Response from Host, Apr 2022
How annoying that it was not the experience you had hoped for. Internally I am looking into why there was no telling about the sights. Due to fire safety, candles cannot be lit but the lighting is slightly different, I am also taking this up internally. Can you send an email to online@stromma.nl so we can look for an appropriate solution. We take your feedback very seriously because we want to provide a pleasant experience. Thank you and best regards
Excellent experience, would highly recommend
Sacha_D, Apr 2022
The tour was a really good experience for us - it was our first time in Amsterdam & it was a really good way to see the city. The staff were friendly & the driver was knowledgeable about the area. The wine was unlimited which was nice and the choices were good. We had a bottle of Merlot & a bottle of rose wine both were very nice. Remember to bring some euros to tip the waiting staff as they are students studying in the local area and they work hard so they deserve the tips.

Delicious cheese, lots of wine
MarioG, Mar 2020
Totally recommended! If you're touring the Amsterdam canals this is a great option. Out guides were very informative and quite funny. The cheese selection is also great. And of course the wine. They just kept on filling up the glass. But take into consideration that this is not dinner, just some cheese and lots of wine. So, if you're hungry try eating something else before the tour.
Response from Host, Jul 2020
Dear Mario, Thank you for you nice review. We are happy to hear you had such a nice time during the Cheese and Wine cruise. It's such an addition to already a great city trip. We hope to see you again someday! Kind regards, Stromma Netherlands
TAKE THIS TOUR!
Kendall_B, Mar 2020
SO happy we chose this cruise, it was one of the highlights of our trip and we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city. A generous portion of 4 different cheeses, breads, and nuts, along with bottomless wine definitely made it worth the money!
