Why Travelers Choose This Tour

This is the ideal option if you have only one day in Amsterdam. The comfortable bus tour takes you to all the essential sights, including historical buildings and monuments.
Let a knowledgeable guide point out traditional gabled houses and other fascinating attractions on this Amsterdam city tour. Select a morning or afternoon departure and board a comfortable coach for both the older and newer parts of this dynamic city.

Discover highlights such as the Skinny Bridge (Magere Brug), Royal Palace, Albert Cuyp Market, the National Monument on Dam Square, and much more. Your introductory tour ends in central Amsterdam with the option to continue with a canal cruise or a visit to the Rijksmuseum.

Optional Canal Cruise: For a more in-depth Amsterdam sightseeing experience, opt to add on a canal cruise. See canals lined with elaborate merchant houses, warehouses, and churches built in the 17th century, considered the Dutch Golden Age. Drift under charming bridges made of brick and stone, and pass through Amsterdam's old harbor before returning to the pier.

Optional Rijksmuseum: One of the largest museums in the Netherlands and home to an extensive and beautiful art collection, showcasing Dutch history during the period between 1200 and 2000, the Rijksmuseum includes highlights such as 'The Night Watch' by Rembrandt, 'The Milkmaid' by Johannes Vermeer, and the works of Jan Steen and Vincent van Gogh. The museum also hosts unique exhibitions of contemporary artists and painters throughout the year.

Amsterdam city tour

Good tour. We went to the location for the bus tour, however one could have easily missed the tour as they departed about 5 mins early. Did not use our optional canal cruise due to time restrains.

This description is misleading. Very disappointed. Was looking forward to an informative tour of highlights of Amsterdam. The tour director was very good, but our half day tour turned into a 2 hour tour. For one hour we were duped into a diamond factory stop, which turned into us being enclosed in a tiny room, forced to listen to a sales spiel about diamonds. This is the worst city tour I've ever experienced. Unfortunate, because all our other experiences in Holland were wonderful.

A nice evening but it was to include a walking tour of the Red Light District but they cancelled that portion and we didn't find out until the very end that it wasn't going to happen.

We actually did not signup for the canal part of this tour. Originally we had chosen Rijksmuseum after the sightseeing tour, but Viator messed up in the tour guides' system and we had to call the local office to get it sorted out. That being said, the tour group was very nice and accommodating of this error and comped us the canal cruise as a goodwill gesture which they did not have to do since it was not their error. Sightseeing Tour - A lot of fun! The first bus tour we went on where there was a live person speaking to us the entire trip instead of being plugged into speakers. Fanny, our guide, was very informative and gave a lot of side commentary along the way. The tour takes you throughout the whole of Amsterdam and they even stop at a local windmill for you to take pictures! Unbeknownst to us, the tour is 2.5-3 hours long because there is a one-hour stop at the Diamond Museum which ended up being very interesting despite it being a sneaky attempt at getting you to buy some bling. Our driver, Stef, was very nice and even played Hallelujah on his keyboard in the bus! Though not while driving. We would give the bus tour itself 5 stars! Canal Cruise - Cruises depart every 30 minutes and last an hour. The cruise is fairly informative and the sights to see are on both sides of the boat so pick any seat. We chose to sit outside, but it wasn't raining and wasn't too cold. The tour was your run-of-the-mill experience, though it would have been nice if they explained the sounds the ship was going to make as it tried to weave through the narrow passageways! Rijksmuseum - What a museum! It is massive. Definitely recommend getting there early to avoid as much of the crowds as possible. You could literally spend days in this museum. We would suggest downloading the museum's free tour guide app before your visit so you can plan ahead of time which sections of time you want to make sure you visit. The museum provides sketchbooks and pencils so you to participate in the art experience and have both a cafe and restaurant on site for when you need to take a break before continuing on your sightseeing journey through the ages.

It was out first tour with Viator and the experience was too good. Amsterdam city tour with expert and friendly guide was fun filled and memorable. Our guide was not only informative but she was a knowledgeable person, we realized this especially during our visit to Art gallery and Gems factory. Observing view of Amsterdam while sailing in canal cruise was unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wish to be in Amsterdam again and again.

A good tour, certainly showing you the layout of the city. We got off at the Diamond factory and then spent four hours at the Rijkmuseum. Pre book tickets.

A good tour to see some sights but unable to get a large bus down some of the small streets. Which you would have to explore by tram and by foot. Was a little disappointed by the canal cruise as it only went around a main canal. Would havw liked to explore some of the smaller canals.

This was the most unorganized touring company we have seen to date. We got there some time before the tour was to start however, the tour had already left. They ask you and 200 other people to meet at this one small shop to start the tour. There are many tours starting at once and it was hard to figure out which one was the one we paid for. After standing in line for some time, the employee told us that the tour already started! It was before 9 am, which was our tour time. I loved Amsterdam, it was a lovely city and the people there are friendly, however, this tour company left a bad taste in our mouths. I would not recommend if you are looking to actually go on a tour.
