Aileen was an incredible tour guide who was not only extremely knowledgeable but also very personable. She was engaging and flexible when it came to what our interests were. I would highly recommend Aileen and the tour to all who are visiting Amsterdam!
Highly recommend!
Meghann_H, Aug 2022
Absolutely loved this tour! Our tour guide was wonderful and knowledgeable about Amsterdam food and History. I would recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your trip. It helped to get a feel for the city and some of the restaurants and food you might want to try again. Dutch Apple pie is a must!
Amazing food tour with the highlights of Amsterdam.
Alison_W, Aug 2022
Your journey begins with beer and apple pie, followed by two fish dishes (herring with onions and pickles and a fried fish in a dipping sauce). There is cheese and sausages, chicken satays, stroop waffles, bitterballs and of course Amsterdam Gin. Our guide Eileen was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. This is a well planned tour and a great way to experience the highlights of Amsterdam
Bitterballin
Morgan_F, Jul 2022
Judith our guide was great! Very informative about the history of Amsterdam. We sampled something’s that were simply delicious! The Geneva is absolutely smooth and goes well with a bitterbal! The herring looked wonderful but our taste buds just wasn’t experiencing that yesterday. I would highly recommend this tour! My daughter and I came all the way here from Nevada and Judith made it such a memorable tour!!!!
Great introduction to Amsterdam sites and foods
Dawn_B, May 2022
Michel was a great guide to show us some highlights of Amsterdam and introduce us to a few great local food specialties. He combined a bit of history with humor and interesting points; together this was an engaging delivery. The foods were authentic, there was a mix of sit-down and stand-and-eat locations, and the quantity of food was just right. The walking was easy and we stayed together well.

Eileen is amazing!
Zoe_W, Nov 2021
Eileen is a fantastic guide, she knows the city well and was willing to share lots of recommendations! Highlight was definitely the apple pie, but special shout out to the fried cod because I am still thinking about it. Great way to see the city, taste some great food, and enjoy the niche districts of Amsterdam!

Antje H, Aug 2017
We travelled as a family of 4 and had a great time! Rene was our guide and he gave us so much interesting information about Amsterdam, the typical food and a lot of insider stuff. His English and German is fluent. This tour was just the perfect start for a three-day- Amsterdam-Tour.
Lunch and Learn. A great way to see Amsterdam.
Frank_K, Feb 2020
Wow, what a great tour with a fantastic guide, DJ. This tour is a must for anyone visiting Amsterdam and enjoys learning about the local culture through food. During our 2.5 hours we walked through the Jordaan District and learned about the history of the area and it's merchants. It is obvious DJ is very knowledgeable and proud of his city. We enjoyed the best apple pie we've ever eaten from a place that has been in business since the 1600's. We visited a cheese shop and sampled 3 distinct types of cheese, a butcher in business since the 1890's, we had traditional herring as well as Genever (a old time fisherman's gin). A few more stops and samples kept us full and happy for the rest of the day. If you can request a tour with DJ do it. You won't be disappointed. This was a gear tour. We liked the mix of Amsterdam culture and history that we got along with the good food. This was a great way to people to check off some Dutch food staples while learning more about the city. Our guide Renae was super friendly and knowledgeable. It was kinda pricey but I think worth it!

A stroll around Jordaan
Terry F, Jul 2019
An informative stroll around a nice part of Amsterdam. Delicious food in significant quantities. Although I wouldn't bother with the place with the chicken and bacon roll (not up to the standard of the others) The guide was lovely
Excellent tour!
Debra_O, Jun 2019
DJ did a great job showing us the highlights of Amsterdam cuisine. Cheese, smoked meats, apple pie, herring and fried fish, plus lots more were delicious. Even my picky teenagers had a good time.
Go ahead and try the herring!
Lisa_F, May 2019
We loved our tour guide, Ruby, and thoroughly enjoyed all the foods that were offered to us on this tour! Go hungry and have an open mind. You will try the herring, offered with some onions and pickles & tulip vodka. Start off with an apple cake with whipped cream, then onto another cafe for cheese and sausage, stop at another place for some chicken satay; another place for herring and tulip vodka and then another place gin (Genever) and amsterdam pancakes and yet another place for a stroopwafel. Everything had it's own dutch name, but I really can't pronounce or spell any of them other than the stroopwafel! Also, learned some other history of the this tour as we strolled along the streets in the Jordaan district.
Great Food Tour
Jon_W, May 2019

Renee was an absolutely amazing tour guide. He was very warm and friendly. We were able to see Jordaan through his eyes! He was extremely knowledgeable! I’ve been on many tours and this by far stands out as Top 5, the food the culture, very intriguing. This tour is a must! You won’t be let down.

The food was very good and our guide explained the connection to the Dutch culture. Thijs, our guide, also include many cultural, architectural and fun facts. It was a great way to get to know Amsterdam!
A very enjoyable tour although more...
James_R, Oct 2017
A very enjoyable tour although more than a little difficult to find starting point if this is your first visit to Amsterdam. The tour guide was kind enough to allow us to start our tour at the second restaurant. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and choices of restaurants offered a nice variety of foodstuffs. All in all I would definitely recommend this tour to get a nice overview of Amsterdam's cuisine.
