Gain insight into Amsterdam’s rich history and heritage
Boasting more bikes than people, Amsterdam is famous for its cycle-friendly culture. To kick off the 2-wheeled tour, meet your guide at the Centraal Station and climb aboard a provided rental bike. Set off along safe and easy bike lanes and paths that wind through the city's most charming and historic neighborhoods. Along the way, listen as your guide shares insight into Amsterdam's rich past and vibrant modern culture.
Cycle past the oldest residence in the city, and learn the history behind other unique structures like the 350-year-old Graffiti House, the Trip Brothers house and the Dutch Theater. Compare the quirky Skinny Bridge and the spacious Torensluis, see the medieval chapels of the Begijnhof and stop at the Homomonument commemorating LGBT victims of persecution.
Be prepared for some special surprises along the way, such a sweet treat (hint: it may be the best cookie of your life!) and retellings of Dutch legends near the historic Nieumarkt area. Your guide can personalize the itinerary based on your preferences and will help you see this fascinating city through the eyes of a local. After exploring the charming alleyways, canals and markets of the famous Jordaan district, your tour concludes back at the Centraal Station.
I booked a private book tour for New Year's Day at 11 a.m.. Turns out the tour was not operating that day, but I didn't find out until I arrived at the bike rental shop which was also closed. Lucky for me the owner happened to be there so she let me in from the cold while I sorted out what happened. The bike rental shop was lovely, but she was pretty much the only silver lining.
What a way to see the city! Our guide was so awesome. We were 45 min late (I got my times mixed up) and then we had to cut the tour a bit short because we had last minute tickets to the Anne Frank Museum but the guide was really cool about it and made it work. And I was not an easy tourist to work with - I could barely ride a bike but he was so understanding about it, making me feel at ease.
If you're in Amsterdam, this is an absolute MUST!!!!!
We did a 3 hour private bike tour with Arun (sp?). He was a great guide, very informative. We were a little nervous about 3 hours on a bike but there were intermittent stops and the biking was easy and fun. Our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.
My girlfriend and I took the three hour bike tour with Arunabha! He was very knowledgeable about all the sites and hidden gems in Amsterdam. If you want a crash course about Amsterdam, a bike tour well get you well adjusted and aquatinted with the city layout! Thank you Arunabha!!
Great way to see the city and parks!!! Arloon was a great guide and took us to a few extra spots.
We did have one person in our group who was unable to ride due to illness and we had a hard time figuring out how to get a refund for him. The guide is independent from the bike rental store. Hoping to hear from aviator on the refund.
great !!! guide Sebastian, we did this the first day of our visit which I really recommend. Besides letting us know the rules and ways to ride a bike during our visit in Amsterdam, he gave us a great general tour of the city and was a great way of an introduction, ONLY THING. VIATOR BE AWARE. we had to pay extra for a bike with hand breaks. we had reserved and paid leg breaks which are more the very old and risky. AND WE AERENT ADVISE. 26 EUROS EXTRA.
