Meet your guide in central Amsterdam for an evening walking tour of Amsterdam’s Red Light District, known as De Wallen in Dutch.
You’ll start with a visit to the Museum of Prostitution, where you can peek behind the scenes of the world’s oldest profession. See displays that include costumes and props used from past to present.
Strolling with your guide through a network of narrow streets, including Zeedijk — a once well-known spot for sailors seeking night amusements — you’ll learn that the shady bars and disreputable clientele are long gone from what was once a dangerous area.
You’ll pass through a welcoming destination filled with plenty of friendly pubs and restaurants, alongside strip clubs, sex shops, and coffee shops.
During the 2-hour tour, have a look at the exteriors of some 300 “kamers,” or cabins, where you might catch a glimpse behind glass windows illuminated with red lights.
Chantelle was our guide and very knowledgeable about the area. I was concerned with the number of people meeting for this tour, but we were split into 4 groups. We did not see the other groups at all. There was no issue with answering questions or advising the group on where to go after the tour to suit individual interests. I learnt so much about the red light district. I recommend the tour and particularly Chantelle as a guide.
He was a fantastic tour guide, funny, helpful, and knowledgeable!
I would do a tour again with this guide
This was the best activity we did in Amsterdam and i highly recommend anyone tondo this walking tour of the red light district! Although a lot of us know what the area is best well known for...doing an actual tour around there gives you more of an insight. Our tour guide Jose was brilliant knew his stuff and kept us really interested with facts and a bit of history around this tour. Its an evening tour so by the time it finishes and you end up right in the middle of the red light district you will see more life around there and plenty of thr girls in the windows! A crazy but intereting world here, you get dree admission into the museum of prostitution and that was well wort a visit too and learn more in there too. Just a heads up if you decide not to use your admission ticket the day of the tour you can go back the next day inthink they just require you to keep the walking tour ticket to allow you in but this is a definate must do tour in Amsterdam! Me and my boyfriend even said we would do this tour again if we return to Amsterdam : also dont take photos of the girls they do not like it but you will see no photo signs everywhere and your Tour guide will tell you thid also :

It was so interesting to hear and see the behind the scene info on this tour. Not sleezy at all. Always felt safe! We really enjoyed it.
This was a great tour with the history behind how the Red Light District came about. It was very informational on past to current and potential future changes.
