What You Can Expect

Amsterdam Super Saver: Bruges Day Trip plus Zaanse Schans Windmills, Marken and Volendam Half-Day Trip

Admire the famous windmills in Zaanse Schans

Your Amsterdam Super Saver: Bruges Day Trip plus Zaanse Schans Windmills, Marken and Volendam half-day trip combines two top tours for one low price.

Spend day one exploring the idyllic city of Bruges. You’ll make your way from Amsterdam to this Belgian destination aboard a comfortable coach. Upon arrival you’ll have four hours to explore at your leisure. Wander the cobblestone streets, float along the canal, stroll the pedestrian lanes and pop into the quaint shops this city is known for. Your friendly guide will offer up pro tips and plenty of information and insight before you take to the streets solo for a day of exploring. Be sure to check out destinations like the Basilica of the Holy Blood (Heilig-Bloedbasikiek), where a vile of Jesus’s blood is on display, and the Groeningemuseum, where medieval art is proudly displayed.

You’ll have time to relax and sample some of Belgium’s famous chocolates on your return coach trip to Amsterdam.

On day two, you’ll spend a half-day navigating the scenic countryside of the Netherlands in the comfort of a coach bus. Your audio guide will share information about the sights and landmarks along the way.

Make a stop in the village of Volendam, which is known for its fishing boats and cheese factories. You’ll have a chance to tour a factory to see how cheese is made, before boating to Marken, where you can wander the fishing village on foot. There’s even time to see a local shoemaker fashion clogs by hand!

Next, you’ll journey to Zaanse Schans, where iconic windmills dot the landscapes. Visit an historic shipyard filled with buildings that are reminiscent of the 17th and 18th centuries before retuning to Amsterdam in the afternoon.

I loved Bruges. It was well worth the drive on a luxury bus down and back. Only commentI wish the tour guides meet the group in a central location at a certain time to get back to the bus after the walking tour and lunch and shopping. I ended up taking a taxi 10 Euros to the parking spot for the bus to prevent getting lost and missing the bus back to AMS.

Bruges was beautiful, however the tour group was quite large and in the walking tour only the handful of people walking closest to the guide could hear due to no earphones or microphone. Aside from that it ran smoothly. The second day trip was quite good also with just enough time in each place.

Bruges Tour was very nice, but wish we had more time to explore The half-day Windmills, Marken and Volendam was also very enjoyable - but wish this tour was offered as a full day option - very rushed throughout each of the three stops

1st day Bruges was great! Our tour guide managed our time well. 2nd day tour guide was sooooo slow it felt like he wasted most of the time.

Belgium was excellent great time enough time to look around, have a leisurely lunch and do some shopping. However the trip to Zaanse Schans etc. was much to short, Could have used at least 1/2 hour more in Zaanse Schans Volendam we had enough time but the Cheese factory demonstration was like a kindergarden show not much to see how cheese was made just some props to show us got a better idea of how cheese was made in a cheese store in Amsterdam where they had the actual equipment showing the processes for cheese making. Also the tour information on the bus told us not to shop for souvenirs in Volendam because we would be able to do this in Markam which was not really fair because for those who listened there was only on shop that people could shop at. After my complaining the guide did tell me there was another one around the corner. The boat trip was ok and the stay in Markam was a quick walk through the town to the wooden shoe factory, saw how wooden shoes are presently machine made , little history and no indication what tools and how they used to be made, My rating would be much lower if it was not combined with Belgium

Brugee is beautiful, really enjoy the town. However, I was really upset about the seating situation. It was a huge group. Isn't it first come first serve? One old couple was so rude to us, told us to get out of their reserved seats. How could you reserve seats on tour bus?please solve the problem!
