Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Compared to other Amsterdam tours, this experience packs in the most and even includes cheese tasting.
Zaanse Schans Windmills, Marken, and Volendam Half-Day Tour:

In central Amsterdam, board an air-conditioned coach and travel with your guide through a picture-perfect landscape crisscrossed with canals as you head out of the city.

Stop in the village of Zaanse Schans, where you see windmills and a historic shipyard. As you tour the town, learn more from your guide about this town renowned for its 17th- and 18th-century buildings that vividly depict historical Dutch life. Then visit a local shoemaker and watch clog-making techniques firsthand.

Next, enjoy a short boat ride to Volendam and Marken. In these authentic fishing villages, locals still wear their colorful traditional dresses and the old wooden houses stand on stilts. After seeing the villages, head to a local cheese factory for a demonstration and tasting of cheese crafted in the traditional Dutch way.

Return by coach to Amsterdam, where you have free time to relax and have lunch (own expense) before starting your tour of Keukenhof Gardens.

Keukenhof Gardens and Tulip Fields Tour:

Board the coach and together with your guide, then admire the countryside landscapes on the drive to Keukenhof, passing colorful tulip fields along the way. En route, hear about the history of Keukenhof and the flower fields that are characteristic of the surrounding area.

Upon arrival, enjoy free time to explore the Keukenhof Gardens (more than 80 acres/32 hectares) on your own, with a provided map that gives you the gardens’ highlights, including sculptural installations. Wander along windy paths, into greenhouses, along brooks and shady ponds. Admire the swathes of colors from the blossoming tulips, daffodils, bluebells, hyacinths, and others.

When it’s time to leave, board your coach for the return trip to Amsterdam.

Bonus: a cruise of Amsterdam's UNESCO-listed canals is also included to use at your leisure.

Windmills and gardens

The windmills etc was fantastic. More than we expected. Beautiful morning. Learnt a lot. Terrific villages. The gardens afternoon appeared overpriced if the 99euro on the ticket was what we paid as it was only bus transport and entry ticket

A perfect package for one day

A well managed & narrated package to look around countryside attraction in Netherlands. You always have an option to choose your preferred language from the audio narration. One suggestion - kindly add a pack of food for all travellers in this package as people find it difficult to roam around all places & time for lunch is skipped.

Terrific Day trip to Tulips & more

Thoroughly enjoyed our (long) day. We had almost 3.5 hours free time to explore the magnificent tulip & bulb displays at Keukenhof Gardens (still didn't see everything). Enjoyed the visit to Zaanse Schans to see & learn about the windmills. Tour also had cheese tasting & look around a fishing village (with very late lunch), boat cruise & clog making. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. The included 1 hour canal cruise in Amsterdam, taken to suit ourselves, was worth it. Highly recommend this tour.

A Long But Worthwhile Day

After meeting at Central Station we started the day at Kuekenhof gardens, which was just beautiful. We skipped the line and went right into the gardens, and had about 3 hours before returning to the bus. The gardens were breathtaking, and we were glad to go there in the morning as the crowd continued to build through our visit. We rode back to Central Station, grabbed a quick and not very good lunch on our own, then boarded the bus for the countryside. The windmill stop was fun but a bit touristy. Enjoyed the wooden shoe factory, though our visit felt rushed. The ferry to Volendam was a refreshing ride as we sat outside. Enjoyed Volendam -- cheese factory tour wasn't much and the tasting grossed me out a little bit because of all the unwashed hands grabbing the samples. But the cheese was awesome, and we bought some to enjoy later in our vacation. We enjoyed beers at a waterfront café during our free time in Volendam, then it was back to Amsterdam. We were exhausted, but both my wife and I agreed that we would do it over again. The tour guides were excellent, even if some of our fellow tourists weren't.

All the guides were friendly and very helpful. Juan was knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The two young guides, Ali & Facu, were helpful even offering to take a picture of me with the windmills since I was solo. All of the sites were remarkable... a wonderful trip.

This tour was great. We were lucky to get to see the Keukenhof gardens the week before they closed, and the other stops were all very interesting. Great value for the price.

I think the tour covers the main tourist sites around Amsterdam. The bus is comfortable and on time. We had good time in all places thanks to the good weather. Zaanse Schans windmill, Clog factory in Marken, Volendam fishing village, Keukenhof Gardens and Amsterdam canal cruise are all excellent. All people in our group are satisfied.

Windmills, Wooden Shoes and Tulips... Oh my!

If you want to see the Holland's beautiful and historic countryside in a day, this tour is perfect! Do Keukenhof in the afternoon, not in the morning, it's self guided and is perfect for for slowing down after a morning filled with walking and tours. The working saw mill, windmill was fascinating! The presenters at each stop, were wonderful! In addition to windmills, wooden shoes and tulips; we went to see (and taste) cheese making and waffle making. The boat ride and lunch spot were great, as well! We were 2 couples traveling together. Excellent, full day tour!
