    Traveler Tips

Do Keukenhof in the afternoon, not in the morning, it's self guided and is perfect for for slowing down after a morning filled with walking and tours.
The tour all in all is a good idea to have these 3 places combined as those who have few time can see them together.

    Fast Paced Lots to See
    Bryce_O, May 2022
The most positive thing is we saw a great number of things in a single day. We did this combo tour. The tour is great except it was just too much in a day. When we checked in early we were told we would be back too late for part 3 and to check back tomorrow? How would the day visitor do they. Also the groups were far too large. The venues could not well handle them. The price was good. The fix is to at least let people choose what order and day people want.
Great trip to Zaans Schanse, Marken, Volendam, ok to Kuekenhoff
    tomarmstrong, May 2022
The Countryside and Windmills was amazing. Probably the best guides, Steve, Sylvia, and Nicholai (?) on any tour we have ever taken. The itinerary was amazing. The information was amazing. The attitude of all staff, in the bus and at the stops, was above and beyond. I would do it again. The Kuekenhoff was good but the time was way too long. After the hour tour by Pieter, which was well done also, we still had 2.5 hours. It got a little old.

Overall worth the money spent and a lovely time spent
    Anju_S, May 2022
The trip was very enjoyable. It was well organised and comfortable. Highlights of the trips were: 1. The tour guide Ian and Marcus and the driver. 2. Love the shoe making and windmill experience 3. The boat ride was enjoyable 4. Astrid the tour guide was amazing. We loved her. 5. Only thing that can be improved is waiting time for bus to return back in the evening which was about 2 hours and really tired us. 6. Loved the tour because of the tour guides on the day.
You see an immense amount in one day, however it is rushed!
    Judith_d, May 2022
Overall very positive experience, however be warned: you will feel very tired after this full day. Our full day from beginning to returning back to the amsterdam train station was over 12 hours. It is a very full day, you will walk a lot, and it is very very fasted paced. A word on the latter--it is a large group that fits a full double decker bus. When you are at Keukenhof gardens you don't have to worry about being moved around in a large group as you are given free time for several hours while there, however in the other half of the day (whether you do keukenhof first or 2nd half) i.e. the windmill (Zaanse Schans)/volendam/marken half of the day it is very rushed from one place to another and I overheard other people on the tour comment on how they felt herded like cattle. If you are young this is fine and you can enjoy the fact that you are seeing so much in one day, and also enjoy the slow paced time at keukenhof to counterbalance the rushed half, however otherwise it is a bit rough. If you are in amsterdam for several days would recommend doing 1 half on one day, and the gardens on another day. However if you are only there for 1-2 days, this is a good way to expend all your energy and see as much as you can. To clarify--keukenhof is not rushed (just a 1 hour guided tour, the other 3-4 hours are yours to use as you please) but the other areas are rushed (for good reason, you cover a lot of ground)

    Great experience abit...
    Maria_A, May 2022
Great experience abit rushed at windmills and less time required at keukenhof. Would be nice if cheese demonstration was real like the clog making not just a show and tell.

    Very disappointing!
    laurierembaugh, May 2022
My 3 best friends and I were so excited for this tour but we were so disappointed on many levels! While we loved what we saw, the trip was not at all what we expected or hoped for. First, to check in, they didn't give the name of the place we needed to check in, just a vague location, but once we did, we were rushed up to the busses with little to no directions. Once we got on the bus, we found out we actually had to go all the way back to the bus terminal to get on a different bus for our next tour and that wasted so much time. At our first stop, the Windmills, they rushed us through with no time at all to go to any of the cute shops - we only had enough time to go to the bathroom, which we had to pay for! They had so many people there we were unable to see the demonstration in the windmill - another huge disappointment. Then they took us to the clog shoemaking demonstration and it was so crowded, I could not even get in and then they rushed us out again with no time to look around. They put us on a boat to a cute fishing village where I would have loved to look around but instead took us to a place to buy lunch, which we needed by then. While the lunch was very good, it would have been nice to know we didn't have time to make a different choice, we were almost forced to eat at the place they recommended. Once done there we had about 15 minutes to look around before the waffle making demonstration which again, was overcrowded so not much to see or hear. The lady making that demonstration was extremely helpful after the demonstration so we actually had a whole 10 minutes to buy some goodies, but were once again rushed to get on the bus and then back to the bus terminal where we got off and immediately had to get on another bus for the Tulip farm with no time for the restroom. It took 55 minutes to get to the Tulip festival where is was really cold and then they told us they'd be back in 4 hours - 4 HOURS!!! By this time it was 3:15 so the bus picked us up at 7:15 for another hour long drive back to the bus station. While the Tulips were amazingly beautiful, I only needed 2 hours so we had to sit in the cold and wait, unless we wanted to sit in the food area and eat the lowest quality food ever. We had tickets to the canal tour but it was so late we didn't get to use them because they were closed and we were leaving the next morning so we didn't get to use the tickets! The website absolutely needs to let you know the tour can't be done in one day - very misleading and we paid for an experience we didn't even get to use. What a rip off! All I can say to others is go on your own or you won't see a thing and there is so much to see! Very disappointing!!!

Good Tour But Keukenhof Too Long
    Vicki_C, Apr 2022
I enjoyed this outing. I gave four instead of five stars because four hours at Keukenhof is too long! I felt I saw and enjoyed everything in two hours. The countryside tour was paced better. I would recommend the countryside, but I’d recommend your own transportation for Keukenhof so you’re not stuck there for so long.

    Excellent
    Lord_K, Apr 2022
It was a beautiful experience. Our guide and driver were spectacular! I recommend this tour. Had a wonderful time
    Disappointing
    Dennis_S, Apr 2022
The first part of the day was good. Our guide was engaged and give us terrific information about the windmills, cheese factory and clog factory. The second guide at Keukenhof was terrible. She acted like she didn’t want to be there. She admitted that she really didn’t know any of the names of the plants and acted like she really didn’t care. She didn’t try to keep the group together or make sure her group received any information. She just left us at one of the Pavilions and went to eat lunch on one of the buses. We believe her name was Anika ( she was older, Caucasian, with blonde hair) It was so cold that day. Most of the tour wanted to leave and she said she couldn’t call for a bus and we just had to wait. We also were entitled to a canal ride, but we just left. We were so disgusted with this tour, the lack of organization and this tour guide. We should receive some type of refund for this wasted afternoon at Keukenhof Fatms.

    Beautiful Flowers
    Miriam_D, Apr 2022
Flower garden was great, windmills cool and very interesting, well worth the price. The bus and trip were well organized.
    Amazing Experience
    Raghuram_M, Apr 2022
Our Countryside and Windmill morning trip was great and especially the two guides Diana and Stef made it more memorable. Their liveliness, singing and attention to photo taking are highly commendable! Everyone appreciated their efforts a lot. Keukenhof Tulip Garden should be on everyone’s bucket list-it is the ultimate experience. Trip and time allocated was perfect.
Crowded and too many people in a trip
    Chew_X, Apr 2022
Packed, crowded during tour, can’t see the demonstration because too many people in a space. Large group tour
    Jam packed fun
    Kaylene_P, Apr 2022
Tim and Ian were wonderful, the tour was so much fun & I enjoyed the cheese tastings and the flowers, wish I had just a little more time with the windmills
    A great, but loooooong day!
    Leo_L, Apr 2022
Overall it was a great day. The tour guides Ian & Lucas were friendly, helpful and entertaining. The highlights definitely were: windmills, ferry from Marken, lunch and stroop waffles. The Keukenhof gardens were beautiful, but 3½ hours there was WAY too long. By the time we got back to Amsterdam it was nearly 8.30pm so, although the trip also included a ticket for a 1 hour canal cruise, I called it a day and headed back to the hotel.
Must see visit in Amsterdam but good to split it over 2days
    NathanaelTan, Apr 2022
Lovely trip to cover the Windmills and tulips However its a really long day. After the Windmills, clogs, cheese the tour brings you back again to Amsterdam before you rejoin another tour group for the Keukenhof Will have been great if this tour was split over 2 days since it get quite tiring Tour buses leaves 5mins ahead of schedule With or Without you so always be on time. Can sense driver and guide conduct this almost twice daily and are rather bored
    Be prepared
    Robert_H, Apr 2022
This full day tour is amazing but very packed. Got to see lots of really great things but would have liked more time in each place. My biggest complaint is we were told we could leave our purchases from the morning on the bus when we arrived at Keukenhof. No one told us the bus was taking a group back to the city. My glass container was SHATTERED and totally unsalvageable. Very disappointing.
Great way to do it all
    Jim_C, Mar 2022
We had a wonderful morning with our guides Ian and Fernando at the windmill and cheese factory. The Keukenhof was beautiful but was a little to long. We were dropped off at 3.45 pm and was told to meet at 7.30 pm for the last bus back to Amsterdam centre. I think 4 hours was maybe an hour too long for this part. Apart from that, the tour was almost perfect.
    Windmills and gardens
    Nomad38551776789, Jun 2019
The windmills etc was fantastic. More than we expected. Beautiful morning. Learnt a lot. Terrific villages. The gardens afternoon appeared overpriced if the 99euro on the ticket was what we paid as it was only bus transport and entry ticket

A perfect package for one day
    SivNarayan_S, Jun 2019
A well managed & narrated package to look around countryside attraction in Netherlands. You always have an option to choose your preferred language from the audio narration. One suggestion - kindly add a pack of food for all travellers in this package as people find it difficult to roam around all places & time for lunch is skipped.

Explore the Netherlands in a single day!

i liked it so much. It was fun. Our guides were two Spanish speakers. They made the trip more fun. Nothing else could be better.
