I loved this trip from beginning to end! I think a great tour guide always makes a tour extra special and this was no exception. It was a larger group tour, but unlike the Brussels/Antwerp day tour it was not over crowded and actually had substance. The bus was a double decker and was extremely comfortable. I was lucky enough to have a row all to myself and could truly enjoy the trip which was about 3 hours each way. We got a lot of history going and coming from Bruges. Once in Bruges we were treated to a nice walking tour. The city is compact enough and teeming with lots of history which made it that much more special! Free time was greatly appreciated and because I had done my research picked the three things that I absolutely wanted to do during my free time. As most people have said in Bruges you could always use more free time as there is so much to do. I had an amazing lunch off the beaten path, got some chocolate at Dumon, Did the boat ride, got some lace, and was able to still have a little more time to visit some of the must see historical points of interest. I recommend this trip to everyone and definitely over the Brussels one. My only recommendation is to understand you will not be able to see everything so pick a few things that are most of interest to you. The boat ride is nice because it gives you a different perspective of the city. Also if you have time, maybe spend overnight there and take the train back!

Remarkable! Bruges is a very beautiful city. It's like you're in a different world. The hot chocolate is beyond compare. You'll marvel at the architecture of buildings. We were able to watch the Nativity Parade.

It was a fun trip. The bus ride was long and not that entertaining, but the town was beautiful and our guide was very knowledgeable of the area. The weather was pretty rough, but that is to be expected. My advice for future travelers would be to dress for the elements. Luckily we did.

If you only have time for one full-day trip from Amsterdam, choose THIS ONE You will love it, guaranteed. Mariana is a top-notch guide. Professional, knowledgeable, friendly and funny. After a beautiful drive through the quaint countryside you will be truly transported to another time upon arriving in Bruges. It was simply unreal - I must have taken about a hundred photos. During your free time in Bruges I recommend taking a boat tour on the canals. It's the best way to get a good idea of all the different buildings. Also if you meet up with Mariana at 5 pm to walk back to the bus you get an extra little tour of the quiet cobblestone side streets. That was my favorite part for taking photos. Bruges has fantastic shopping too - beer, candy, chocolate, lace, shoes, fashions - all of it! I was a lone female traveler and felt completely safe on this trip. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Though not our first visit to Bruge, we learned a lot of new things about the place thanks to Alex, our tour guide. As an added bonus, while I expected him to start his commentary only on reaching Bruge, he shared so much about Amsterdam too, on the way to and from Bruge. Good job!
