This day trip from Amsterdam takes you on a whirlwind tour through one of Belgium’s largest cities, Brussels. Experience beer, chocolate, diamonds and art, and learn about all-things Belgian from an informative guide. Enjoy a walking tour and snap a photo of the impish Manneken Pis in Brussels, and pick up delicious Belgian chocolates before returning to Amsterdam.
  • Visit the Belgian city of Brussels on a day trip from Amsterdam
  • Get a demonstration by a chocolatier and taste some famous Belgian chocolate
  • Tour Brussels and admire the Royal Palace of Belgium and the Manneken Pis statue
  • Make the most of free time in Brussels to shop for Belgian chocolate and beer

Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Use your free time in Brussels to visit Grand Place, a strikingly beautiful medieval square. Beauty aside, the site is also home to a chocolate museum — handy if you need inspiration for goodies to take home.
Belgium has something of interest for every visitor, be it beer, chocolate, diamonds or art. Board a comfortable coach in central Amsterdam and  travel to Brussels and get to know the Belgian capital on a 45-minute walking tour. See the Royal Palace of Belgium, the European Commission buildings and the Grave of the Unknown Soldier. Of course, you must take a photo of the bronze Manneken Pis statue, who is dressed in luxurious suits occasionally throughout the year.

Having covered the highlights, enjoy over two hours of free time to wander Brussels on your own. Grab lunch, treat yourself to some of Belgium’s famous chocolate and beer or pick up souvenirs. (Food, drinks and any admission fees are at your own expense.)

Regroup with your guide at the designated time and relax as your coach transports you back to central Amsterdam, where your tour ends in the evening.

The bus seats were painful and the driver was grumpy.

It's just that it takes forever get there and back...traffic is crazy on both ends. But Brussels is amazingly beautiful. Guide was knowledgeable but pompous and demeaning.

The trip met our expectations and more. Alejandro is an excellent guide. He gave us plenty of knowledge about Brussels. And led us to a great place for lunch.

It was a great day trip. The guide was fluent in several languages and gave as an overview of the places.

This turned out to be a full day of shopping - not what I imagined, nor what I expected. We walked around so many streets, so many shops, and they all seemed to be similar. The tour guide was terrible - he just told us to buy these five things, walked quickly to one tourist statue of a boy peeing and told us to meet him at a certain time or find our own way back to Amsterdam. I was hoping to see war memorials, but the guided didn't know of any.

Brussels is at least 3 hours away from Amsterdam, so with traffic you are on the bus for at least 6 or 7 hours of this tour. The bus is a double decker so there are 80-85 passengers. We signed up for the English tour, but got a bilingual English and Spanish mix. Very annoying. You get about an hour at the Atonium, which is the World's Fair exhibit for Belgium from 1958. Not enough time to explore. They also did not stop for bathroom breaks all the way to Brussels, and even sold water on the bus. You get about an hour of driving around Brussels with no stops for photos, and about an hour walking in central city. Then an hour of a ridiculous chocolate demonstration, where the guy pours chocolate into a plastic ice cube tray and you get chocolate. dumb and not worth the time. Then you are on your own from around 2:30 until 6 to explore the central city. The bus driver was super rude and then a 3 1/2 hour trip back to Brussels. Total time 12 hours and not worth the time or money.

I purchased 4 tickets for visit to Antwerp and Brussels, however there was no stop in Antwerp.
Guide spent 45 minutes north of Belgium on a coffee and toilet break which was too long. There was not much to see at that stop. In Brussels the Guide was not very helpful in explaining the various activities.

Great day trip to Brussels with a wonderful guide Piter (hope I spelled it correctly) and a guitar pro driver Ron. Very informative, engaging and fun. Brussels turned out to be a bit provincial but the Old Town center is quite spectacular. A stop at the Atonium was an added delight. Thank you!
