Wander the cobblestone streets and gaze upon the quaint homes and bridges along Edam’s canals – it’s like taking a stroll through a Dutch postcard.Travel onward to the province of Zaandam, famed for its collection of perfectly preserved Dutch windmills. Admire the quaint structures and disembark to visit one of the iconic windmills up close.
Excellent tour to introduce us to the area outside of Amsterdam. Good pace, guide and bus driver. Lunch was Ok.
this was by far a fantastic tour. We enjoyed it. We especially loved our tour guide, Cecilia. She was super knowledgeable and personable. We would definitely recommend this tour when visiting Holland.
Had a great time. The tour was fantastic. The tour guide and bus driver made sure that no one gets left behind. The tour guide was entertaining. The tour was educational and fun. A lot of walking on this tour.
I took the “Charm” tour to the countryside north of Amsterdam yesterday. We walked through the cute towns of Edam and Marken. There was plenty of time to get good photos. We saw bakery and cheese factory demos in Volendam, had a nice lunch in Marken with a wooden shoe making demo. The 20 minute boat ride from Volendam to Marken was pleasant, and we toured the inside of a working windmill at our last stop. There were lots of children on the tour (elementary through high school) and they seemed to enjoy all the varied experiences. Our guide, Elsa, was knowledgeable and kept things moving. My only criticism would be to skip the museum in Marken, boring and unnecessary!

This tour really delivered. It really gave you a sense of life in the smaller picturesque towns. We got to see some lovely areas, watch how wooden shoes are made (and find out who still uses them today), see how Edam cheese is made, take a ferry ride, and go to some authentic Windmills. It was a very active tour with a lot of walking and stairs, and we were tired when we got back, but very happy we went.
Amsterdam is a very busy place so my daughter and I really enjoyed this tour of the country side. The cheese tasting and boat tour were fabulous and Edame was the most peaceful, beautiful city. We loved walking through it and learning about it. Definitely a tour worth taking.
We enjoyed this tour very much. The main reason is the tour guide Cecilia. She was personable and funny with her comments about the killer bikes. Her knowledge about the country added to a delightful experience.
Already wrote a review on how AWESOME this tour was. It was worth the money. Covers a lot, but you can get to see and experience a lot too. But, to add to my comment..... I left my little Coolpix camera with all my pictures. I do not mind the Coolpix camera, but my pictures were precious to me. If anyone found it and is kind to return it... please e-mail Viator so they can contact me. I would appreciate it a lot. I believe I left in the bus. Probably our last stop. Our tour was on Jun 30th - Saturday. Thank you very much
This was so enjoyable! Loved getting to tour a windmill and learn about how it worked. Seeing how people lived in basically one room in the early days of Marken was very interesting as well as visiting a wooden shoe factory, the cheese factory and the stroopwaffel bakery!
This was a great tour. Very informative and we saw some new destinations and learned a lot about the places we visited.
