This trip gave us more than Expected! We took the tour 4/418 at 10:00 am and met in front of NH Hotel in Amsterdam. We were 8 people six adults and two very well behaved children in this tour. The driver arrived 10 minutes prior to the start time and once everyone arrived before tour time, he took off to Zaanse. Once in Zaanse we were introduced to a lovely lady, sorry I cant remember her name, a resident of the town who became our guide. She not only showed the entire town and gave detailed history of each place we stopped by, but she took her time to take us to let us shop and ask questions. She took us to the Mayors house, whose wife is her friend and we saw how the people in town live. We even met her cute dog. I will be recommending this tour to all my friends and posting the information on my FB travel group, so if anyone of my friends or family members travels to Amsterdam, they can book with Zaanse Tours!
This a wonderfully charming place not too far a trip out of Amsterdam. The village is beautiful to look at even on a very misty day as when I visited. Ingrid, our guide, was a brilliant companion of for the trip. A resident herself and passionately knowledgeable about her village and its history.
If you're looking for something a little different to most Amsterdam sites, then this is well worth your time.
This was a fantastic tour. It was great to get away from Amsterdam and see something new. It was so green and beautiful. The little town was adorable, I would love to live there! My boyfriend and I loved it, we learned so much about the windmills, clog making and the village.
So pleased we selected this tour. It did not disappoint. Bart picked us up on time and drove us to where we met our guide Callum. It is a must to wear comfortable footwear as the tour involves a bit of walking. Callum provided us with the history of Zaanse Schans as we passed beautiful houses and into a clog factory where we saw them being made and then onto the cheese factory where we got to sample a variety of cheeses. We then walked towards the windmills which some were working. Callum gave us information on the history of the windmills and the part they played in Amsterdams past. Although the tour was only a half day we came away with greater knowledge of Amsterdam and it's history. A great morning, very enjoyable.
GREAT TOUR — highly recommend. We were only three persons on the tour, with an extremely knowledgeable and friendly guide. Went at a slow pace to accommodate the two ladies over age 70. Everything we wanted from the tour was met.
Good experience for the money! Guide knew what he was talking about.
This tour was excellent. Our tour guide was highly knowledgeable, as he was from the area. We enjoyed watching the wooden shoe demonstration and seeing the windmills. Lovely little place.
The Zaanse Schans trip is excellent, the local guide provide us the most insightful story about the village. It is really a small group, only 9 of us and all of us have different tour package. I chosen the 3 hour package which only visit the Zaanse Schans in the morning and back to Amsterdam by 2pm which allowed us to have more time in Amsterdam. This is highly recommended for the price and arrangement. By the way, due to the traffic, they come to pick us up a bit late, they even wait for another 5 minute for the missing guest.
This trip was amazing. Ray our bus driver was fantastic he also took us back by boat. Ingrid was our tour guide she was so knowledgeable and fun. I would definitely recommend this tour .
Really enjoyed this tour. Zaanse Schanz is a beautiful area. Very informative and friendly guide who had personal knowledge of the area. Would definitely recommend this tour.
