One of the country’s favorite rafting rivers, experiencing Asheville’s French Broad River is a paddler’s rite of passage. On this guided tour, you’ll raft through four miles of Class II and III rapids, stopping for river dips, taking in the views of the surrounding Pisgah National Forest, and eventually ending with an Asheville tradition: a cold, local craft beer.
  • Easy transfers to and from the French Broad River

  • Spend two hours navigating whitewater, rafting through the forest, even stopping for a swim
  • End your journey with a complimentary cold one!

Our guide, "Stamper" was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and informative ! The trip down the river had amazing views and we even stopped a few times to swim and enjoy the water. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family, and we would go again as well. You should request "Stamper" for your upcoming trip !!

Great experience for a first time rafter

Great experience from start to finish. Friendly folks at check-in. Helpful, friendly, and safe bus drivers and rafting guides. If you're nervous about trying this, don't be. I was nervous that the river would make it a bumpy ride and that I'd be bouncing along the whole time. Not the case at all. The river was mild and most of the time is spent floating with the current and minimal steering is required. Each raft can hold 6 people plus a guide. The guide tells us when to paddle and how to paddle. Example "paddle forward 3 times!" It's that easy! We did have someone fall out of our raft right at the last rapids. I got the impression that this rarely happens, but it can! On the last rapids, the raft got stuck on a rock. The guide asked us to shift our weight to get us loose and someone lost their balance and fell in. She got thrown underwater pretty quickly but the guide, Grant, grabbed her so fast she never got separated from the raft. A photographer was around to take our picture on the river, but it's been a couple of days and I'm not sure how to receive the photos. Bottled water and peanut snacks are available at the end of the trip. The drive from the meeting place is about 45-50 minutes each way. A very cool experience for beginner rafters, and beautiful scenery to enjoy as well!
