After being dropped at the wrong end of the street and having to walk and. Ask directions 5 times we finally arrived 10 minutes late after a 35 minute hike. Not a good start. But things only got better from there and our group of 6 were soon settled in the very comfortable and we'll set up room for our lesson. Fofi quickly made us feel at home and showed her love and knowledge of Greek cooking. Over the next 1.5 hours or so we all made pr prepared roast lamb and potatoes, spanakopita, zucchini balls, tzatziki, and a lemon desert. I may have forgotten one or two, yes, dolmathes. Once the lesson was over we were seated out at the Tavern Diavlos and served our meal. This was the ideal way to finish the evening even though we just could not manage to get through all the food we had prepared. Later in the evening we witnessed a massive storm with sheet lightning and thunder and people scurrying for cover. However, we were all very happy sitting the refinishing our meal and drinks and enjoying a very Grek experience. We would recommend this to anyone, even if you don't know one end of a kitchen from the other.
Wonderful experience! We had a great time preparing the food and of course eating what we had prepared. I would highly recommend this tour!
Fofi the teacher was great- passionate about real Greek cooking and ingredients, she was inspirational. She made sure the children in the group of 14 were included and happy. We ate the many dishes we helped to create - well tried to eat, there was a lot! My advice is to go to the class very hungry!
Really great experience. I would highly recommend it to any age group. Fofi is unbelievably friendly and makes the class very easy and fun!
I had a brilliant experience at the Greek Cooking Class in Athens Tavern, loved the company, and to prepare and eat your own food, new experience for me.
This was a really fun and delicious evening. The instructor was really fun and the food was amazing. I also really enjoyed meeting and spending the evening th the other participants. The atmosphere of the tavern was also relaxing.
This class is so wonderful, and Eva the instructor is fantastic. We got recipes of all the dishes we prepared to bring home. The dishes we prepared were things that Eva cooks for her own family, and they were all things I definitely see preparing again. I highly recommend this class to anyone who likes cooking and wants to learn about Greek culture and cuisine. It's a lot of fun.
The cooking class was one of our favorite things we did while in Greece! Hands down the best food we ate all week. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
This was such a fun experience! Eva was so much fun to learn from, very knowledgeable, and the food was fantastic! Would highly recommend.
This was a wonderful experience - Eva was an amazing hostess. She not only instructed us in the cooking of the meal which was delicious but provided information about the family experience in preparing a meal. There were 5 in our class so it was very intimate. A must do for anyone who enjoys traditional Greek food!
Eva was warm and entertaining. There were only 2 of us, but it was a fun and delicious evening. I would do it again!
This was definitely a highlight of my vacation. The Instructor was great and the class was really fun. I recommend this for everyone.
Excellent. Would recommend highly. Do prepare that this event takes all evening.
The tavern was so lovely and clean with amazing service. Fofi has incredible knowledge she shares about Greece, food traditions and crafty techniques. I wasn't sure about doing this class but my teenagers and I all enjoyed it and met very pleasant fellow Travellers as well. I'm now contemplating signing up for the food tour through the market. Thoroughly satisfactory!
It was a lot of fun. Made a variety of dishes and then had fun eating them all. Fofi was a great instructor, well organized and a nice setting.
This was the highlight of our trip to Athens. Our evening with Fofi and her assistant Xenofontas our server at Diablo Tavern was perfect. We prepared enough food for 10 people and there were only four of us in the class. Xenofontas served this elegant meal to us in the restaurant and then sent us home with the leftovers, which we ate on a picnic the next day. So much fun! And great recipes too! I highly recommend this activity to any visitors to Athens.
This class was tons of fun. Sofia is an amazing instructer, very patient and lighthearted. Her assistant was also a lot fun. We made 5 dishes that were all amazing and easy to follow. I've never had better tasting Tzatziki sauce! I had several glasses of wine and Raki, it was included in the package. The Tavern is called Diavlos, the staff there was also great and fun. Highly recommend this class.
Great teacher, lovely food - overall a very welcoming and friendly experience. I highly recommend it!
