What To Expect

Begin your day trip with a pickup at your Athens hotel or from near Syntagma Square in central Athens. Settle inside your air-conditioned coach and admire the scenery as you trace the coast of the Saronic Gulf into the Peloponnese.

After around 1.5 hours, arrive at the ancient hilltop city of Mycenae and enjoy a walking tour of the ruins of this once powerful, fortified settlement. Hear how the city was, in Greek myth, ruled by King Agamemnon, and view highlights such as the Palace, Tomb of Agamemnon and Lion’s Gate.

Afterward, stop in the pretty seaport of Nauplia before continuing to ancient Epidaurus, the mythological birthplace of Asklepios, the Greek god of healing.

Tour the spectacular relics, including the UNESCO-listed Sanctuary of Asklepios, with its crumbled buildings. Then, ogle the breathtaking ancient theatre of Epidaurus. Built in the 4th century BC, the colossal theater is considered one of the world’s most beautiful and still boasts fabulous acoustics.

Your trip ends back at the original departure point in Athens.

Compact tour through the Peloponnese
Gudrun_A, May 2022
We saw the main highlights of the Pelopennese (Mycene, Epidauros, Channel of Corinth, Nafplio) in one tour with a nice tour guide. The only negative point was that lunch was served in a hotel out of Nafplio and not in the city centre which would have offered alternative possibilities for lunch.
Great day.

Amazing day. Guide was excellent. Only downside is if you are veggie or vegan don’t add lunch the veggie option is awful.

It was an amazing experience! The guide was very kind and a great story teller! Only thing that could be improved is some more time in the Epidayuros Theatre!
Must take it if you live history
Sarwar_K, Aug 2022
Loved the trip. Our guide was really nice and knowledgeable. It was a hot day but she tried her best to make us comfortable. Enjoyed every bit of it.
Amazing cultural site
Katrina_K, May 2022
Every interesting cultural sites. Guide was very knowledgable. Would recommend to anyone interested in Greek mythology. If you don't book the meal you still have to spend an hour in the hotel were the meal is and there is nothing else around.
Our Experience In Mycenae and Epidaurus
EdgarIvan_P, Jun 2022
The tour started with pickup at Hotel Amalia and we were a small group (15 or less). We made first stop next to Corinth for a coffee/restroom break. Able to see the canal. From there we went to Mycenae. We saw the Look Gate and our tour guide explained the importance of the site. After that we had free time. Then we went to Epidaurus. What a beautiful site. It’s still being used and very well conserved.

We were fascinated with the trip to Mycenae and Epidaurus. Interesting information. Our guide, Joy, worked hard giving all the details in French and then again in English.

Great tour
carla_r, Aug 2022
Our guide was very knowledgeable on the sites visited. There was plenty of time at each stop to hear the guide's explabations and then walk on our own and take pictures. Fully recommend.
Recommended with some reservations
Yuxiao_X, Jul 2022
Pros: The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, she talked about everything, not just about the sites. And we were not a huge group. Cons: Somewhat expensive. Plus the lunch was mediocre.

Stunning trip and also including lunch at Nafplio and a stop at Corinth. Well guided all along the way. Highly recommended.
Poor lunch choice but good/varied stops
Steve_M, Mar 2022
This would have been a great trip if the lunch had been at the seaside stop, instead we had an hour lunch stop in the middle of nowhere rather than a 1.5 hour stop in a beautiful seaside town (where we had 30 minutes to dash to the square and back). This has been a regular criticism of the tour, why not listening and changing????? Otherwise it was a good & varied multiple stop tour with frequent stops so didn't seem too stuck in the coach. The tour bus was plush but not over comfortable and ventilation was limited.

We are thanking you for your review. Unfortunately the seaside restaurants don't accept group bookings. Thank you Hara

A perfect day with lots of visited sites and memories
Zoltan_K, Sep 2021
This tour is just awesome, it has everything: multiple archeological site visits, museums, lunch, city walk. And all of this is presented in a pleasant way, with no rush. Of course one could argue that more about X should be good, and Y should be skipped, but for me the most important thing was that I wanted to see great monuments, soak into the Greek atmosphere, and keep the museum visits to a minimum as I much prefer to see things on site than in a poorly lit room. Our tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, did the tour in two languages and shared with us many interesting facts about the cultures. She let us wander around, clearly stated how much time we have, and I must say that the given time is always enough, not plenty, so you need to strategically plan where you will go, when you will start turning back, but we never had to run because of this, it was a perfect day.

Fantastic day trip and very knowledgeable guide. Also loved the seaside town we stopped at. Although lunch was plentiful it would have Ben great to eat at the seaside rather than the hotel.

Great tour guide. Theater very interesting and the town nafoplio was very beautiful. Overall all sights interesting.
Fun day!
Shannon_B, Mar 2022
Our guide was fantastic, incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. There was plenty of time to wander on our own and we never felt rushed.
Not a good option for Classicists
Ruby_L, Jul 2022
TL;DR - a nice tour if you don’t know or care too much about the archaeological sites. A disappointment if know your stuff and want time to appreciate the sites. Also, don’t bother getting pre-paid lunch unless you are prepared to eat a LOT. I’ll start with the cons: the tour is rushed, and it is not possible to thoroughly explore the archaeological sites in the time given (especially if you listen to the guided tour). I heard from another participant who did the same company’s Delphi tour that the Delphi tour was similarly rushed. We only stayed at Epidauros for one hour, which is enough time to see and appreciate only the ancient theater, but not nearly enough time to explore the incredible site of the temple of Asclepius. The guide insinuated that the temple was not worth your time because it is “just a bunch of ruins” that are not well preserved, which was a shocking dismissal of how incredibly important and interesting this particular temple of Asclepius is. My fiancé and I split off from the tour of the theater early to be able to see the temple, and we had to literally run from plaque to plaque just to make it to the abaton. We weren’t able to read all the plaques about the different buildings, which was hugely disappointing. Again at Mycenae, we only got 1 hour - to be fair, the guide originally said we would have 1.5-2 hours there, but the time was cut down here because it was very hot. At Mycenae, again listening to the tour means you will not be able to fully explore the rest of the ancient city. By splitting off from the tour right away, we were able to read most of the plaques, but didn’t have time to set foot in the museum. Part of the problem was that the tour guide was giving the tour in both French and English, which was quite impressive, but a poor decision on the company’s part because it wastes the little time you are given to explore. For most, going to these places this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I can absolutely not recommend any tour that only gives you 1 hour to explore each site. The pros: the bus driver and guide were very nice, the bus was cool/comfortable/air-conditioned, and of course, Mycenae and Epidauros are locations that you cannot miss. The lunch was also delicious, but I would recommend not pre-paying for lunch and instead ordering a la carte unless you have a huge appetite: no one at my table was able to finish the four courses provided from the fixed menu. The bus also stops at the Corinth canal, the treasury of Atreus, and briefly in Nafplion, which honestly I would have preferred to skip to have more time and the main sites, but others may enjoy the photo-ops there.
Response from Host, Jul 2022
We are thanking you for your review. This is a tour which include very important sites of Greece , Mycenae & Epidaurus. If on the day of your visit was a very hot day , the guide in order to protect clients can give more info on the bus instead to stay under the sun for healthy reasons only. In Nauplia as you mentioned you had a delicius lunch with 14 Euros only instead of pay a la cart which is more expensive and then you have free time in the small town of Nauplia. As per our advertised itinerary it was clear that you will stay one hour at Epidaurus so we run the tour as per schedule. Our company offers bilingual tours as all tourists not understand English. After all hope that you enjoyed your day in Peloponesse. Best regards Hara
A Great Tour

The knowledge and language skills of the very professional tour guide were excellent. Mycenae and Epidaurus were very impressive.
Nice tour not to miss
Nebojsa_I, Jul 2022
Long but good tour. Lot to see and hear. Lunch could be better . Guide ok but not easy to keep tour in English and French. Headphones could be better
Great day trip
Kathleen_S, Oct 2021
Great tour. Our Guide, Joy, was very knowledgeable and provided so much interesting information, not just the usual script. I would suggest eliminating the lunch at Epidaurus, shortening the time at the theater there and spending more time in Nafplion. That is a beautiful seaside town. It wound be a welcome spot to relax for a bit after Mycenae. Caution: we did not take the tour with lunch but that stop is at a hotel in the middle of nowhere. There is nowhere else to eat or walk while the group is eating. We ordered a la carte from the menu. The mini bus had WiFi and USB ports Glad we took the tour
