Our four hour walking tour was a fun and interesting experience of eating and learning about eating in Athens. Our guide, Irene, was immediately our good friend and an excellent instructor of the local foods. I especially enjoyed wandering through the markets.
Sophia was wonderful!!! She went above and beyond all day long, even helped us find a money exchange and the Segway office afterward. it was like spending the day with a friend. I wrote about it my blog and posted pics. Nothing beats having a local person, and especially someone has smart and knowledgeable as Sophia, to show you the insider's perspective. This was a highlight of our time in Athens!!
Eirini was our tour guide. She was superb. We enjoyed the culinary delights of Athens inludingh a lovely tour of a small locale including various markets. Eirini had a very relaxed and easy going attitude plus an incredible sense of humour. She ended the tour with a cake and candle birthday treat.
Irene was Amazing! We really enjoyed the tour of the city by foot as well as the good food and information. Highly recommended!

This is a great tour! I would definitely recommend this on a trip to Athens.
This was a good time. One of the highlights of our trip. We had Kosta. He was incredibly personable. Went to local, non-tourist places. Food was great. We just finished a two week trip Athens, Rome, Seville. My kids 16,19, 22 are telling me to make sure I mention that this was their favorite activity.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Conducted at our pace. Anna our guide was very knowledgable and friendly as were all the places we went to.
This was the best food tour I've ever been on! Ana shared the culture, history, origins of the food we tasted and the places we visited. I can't recommend this highly enough we had fun, tried authentic Greek dishes and expanded our understanding of Athens. As an added bonus the tour oriented us to the layout of the city so walking to attractions and shopping on days following was a breeze. Ana took her time and let us enjoy ourselves. Great tour and great guide!
Irini, our tour guide, was awesome! I highly recommend this tour.
The guide was very knowledgeable and organized and went out of her way to make this a geat experience. We felt we knew a great deal more about Athens and Greece than before111
This food tour is amazing. I lucked out and Sofia was my guide. Even better, I was the only one on the tour. Sofia was wonderful - very personable and efficient. She called ahead so that the food items were ready when we arrived. You get to sample many Greek dishes and Sofia explained how they were used in every day Greek life. You will have more food than you can eat. I highly recommend this tour and ask for Sofia!
Our guide was Eirini and she was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, informative and very personable. She shared her knowledge of Greek cuisine and also answered our questions about the Greek way of life. We would highly recommend this tour. Thanks.
Anna our tour guide was phenomenal. She showed us a great time. The highlight of the tour was the wine and salad. She made beautiful Greek salad, very delicious and fresh.Tour is worth every penny spent
My husband and I had an opportunity to spend time with Sophia touring the part of Athens that most tourists never experience. Most importantly, Sophia was a terrific tour guide - warm, bubbly and welcoming - which made the entire experience that much more enjoyable. She started us off with a typical Greek breakfast - Spanikopita spinach pie, Galaktoboureko custard pie, Bougatsa custard or meat filled filo, etc. We wandered into a Loukoumades bakery to enjoy fresh fried dough balls covered in honey. She took us to a meat market where absolutely everything was on display I had a bit of trouble with this, so we moved quickly into the fish market. We then meandered into the produce market where we had the opportunity to taste fresh olives and nuts from the local vendors. We stopped for authentic Greek coffees and learned how they come to temperature while sitting in a briki coffee decanter in hot sand. We visited Miran, an amazing Greek delicatessen where we sampled traditional dried meats and cheeses. Sophia rounded out our visit at a final shop where we had a wine, olive oil and vinegar tasting. Sophia made us a traditional Greek salad that we enjoyed before ending our visit. I would definitely recommend this outstanding tour to any foodie visiting Athens. Be sure to make a note that you would like to request Sophia!
This food tour was AMAZING, and there was so much food! Our tour guide, Eirini, was fantastic. She took us to so many places and all of the food was delicious. What a fantastic way to tour the food of Athens. I HIGHLY recommend!!!

You will be stuffed with deliciousness on this tour! Our guide, Sofia, was super knowledgeable and fun. We started with cheese and spinach pies, moved on to the best souvlaki I've ever had and then on to Greek coffee, Greek donuts, a walk through the food market to sample nuts and olives. All things Greek! Sofia picked out some fresh vegetables and prepared a Greek salad for us at our next stop while we sipped wine and tasted olive oil and vinegars. Think you're done? Nope! On to sample meats and cheese with a little raki. I know I'm leaving things out and it was all good!
Eirini was a wonderful and lively guide. We walked and tasted a true sample and learned a lot about the city and culture.
Do this tour!
My guide was fantastic....went to all the local non-tourist places for great eats, products.
The visit to the Athens meat/fish market is worth it by itself.
Every place we went was great, you will sample items that are local and home made.
Dont miss this tour. It's a well organized walking tour with a nice and knowledable guide Anna. This tour became a private tour for me and my wife with the the tour guide. We walk through some places to taste the local gourmet, local fish market and also a unique coffee cafe at the center of Athens. Thank you Anna.
Our guide Anna was the best! We ate food we would have never known about and went to neighborhoods we would not have otherwise visited. We were able to taste the true Athens as a local and not a tourist.
This tour was one of the best parts of my stay in Athens. My friend and I were treated to an incredible day of exploring the city and trying local food. Our guide, Anabelia, was great! She knew all the best places away from the tourist traps and was great company. The private tour felt more like a day out with a friend showing us around her city. The food was delicious, and it was so much fun to visit the places where things were bought or made we never would have found the fish market or the street filled with herbal shops on our own! After the tour, Anabelia even provided us a list of the names of everywhere we stopped and what we tasted, so we would know what to look for on our next trip. If you want to see more of the day to day life in Athens while exploring and trying new things, I highly recommend this tour!
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative. Make sure to come hungry as you are going to eat A LOT of food. You'll want to finish everything you try, but try your best to keep saving room.
Totally worth it! The Monastiraki area of Athens is awash with interesting food and this tour is a great way to hit a few spots you were unlikely to find on your own. It's a private tour so the pacing is perfect and our guide, Irene, was a particularly wonderful host. I'm happy we went early in our trip because we went back to the deli/market area to pick up ingredients for a picnic on Philopappos Hill.
Pro-tip: Pick the 10am time and skip breakfast.
