Overview

See Queen Street, the Auckland Viaduct, Auckland Domain and more on a half-day city tour of Auckland. An informative guide takes you over the Harbour Bridge to the North Shore for views of the skyline, stops in the charming village of Parnell for morning tea and continues along Tamaki Drive. Combine your sightseeing with one of seven possible upgrades: Devonport ferry; Sky Tower; Kelly Tarlton’s; War Memorial Museum and Maori cultural performance; harbor cruise; lunch on the ‘Pride of Auckland’ yacht; and seasonal wine tasting.
  • Half-day morning tour of Auckland
  • Cross the harbor bridge to the north shore
  • See Auckland Domain the city's oldest park
  • Enjoy the morning tea at the quaint village of Parnell
  • Travel along the scenic Tamaki Drive for water views
After hotel pickup by coach, your Auckland sightseeing tour begins with a drive over the Harbour Bridge to Auckland’s North Shore, providing views of the harbor and city skyline. Returning to the central city, your guide takes you to Queen Street and the Auckland Viaduct before traversing Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park.

Stop in the quaint village of Parnell for morning tea and meander past the specialty shops and stylish boutiques housed in heritage-listed buildings. Then finish at Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park in Mission Bay, reached via the Tamaki Drive waterfront. Enjoy great photo ops over Whenua Rangatira, Auckland city and Waitemata Harbour before drop-off at your hotel.

If you’d like, upgrade your tour with one of the following options:

Devonport FerryRide the ferry across the harbor to Devonport and spend your afternoon in one of the city's oldest suburbs. Wander the Victorian streets, browse art galleries, stop at cafes or climb to the top of Mt Victoria for splendid views.

Sky TowerThe 1,076-foot-high (328-meter) Sky Tower is New Zealand’s tallest manmade building, providing panoramic views over Auckland from the observation platform.

Kelly Tarlton's Sea Life AquariumObserve giant stingrays at Stingray Bay, tropical species in the Fish Gallery, and king and gentoo penguins at Penguin Discovery. Then find moray eels, sharks and more in the Underwater World.

Maori Cultural Performance and MuseumSee collections on New Zealand military and natural history at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, then enjoy a cultural performance by local Maori dancers and singers.

Fullers Harbour CruiseSwap the bustling city for a cruise on shimmering Auckland Harbour. Pass by the Harbour Bridge and the Devonport Naval Base — home of the Royal New Zealand Navy — as you listen to onboard commentary about the sights.

Pride of Auckland Sailing Cruise with LunchSet sail over the tranquil waters of Waitemata Harbour on the Pride of Auckland sailboat. Cruise past the ‘City of Sails’ as you relax with a boxed picnic lunch box on board.

Wine on Waiheke (November to March only)Taste bountiful wines on Waiheke Island during a guided tour to three notable wineries: Mudbrick, the Goldie Room and Te Whau. Ride the ferry across the Hauraki Gulf and enjoy sweeping views of the Auckland skyline and island-strewn waters. (Participants must be 18 years of age or older.)

Around Auckland

The tour was very nice, the driver&guide was 1 person, a kind lady from the Cocoa Islands. :) She was cheerful and tried to create a great atmosphere on the bus. However all should have enough time to get to the bus stop, and be aware, no any transportation to the pick up point is possible, at least not from the airport.

We chose this tour for an overview of the city of Auckland since we only had one day to see the sights before embarking on our cruise. We were glad that we added the visit to the War Memorial Museum to the basic tour. The museum provided many interesting exhibits about history and about the Maori culture, including an entertaining and educational Maori performance.

Though it was a fairly good overview of Auckland, the tour was too short to get a good idea of what Auckland had to offer.

Didn't have a chance to stop at any of the places on the tour. While we went over the bridge but didn't stop - just drove over and took the ramps to immediate to back in the other direction. At the one stop where there was some time, there really wasn't anything to do except find a place to have a coffee which wasn't what we wanted to do.

This day was not what was expected, again we were rushed 1/2 hour late from start time then we were very busy picking up people and dropping them off at their connecting tours more than we were being taken on a sight seeing mission. The University Tour is a better name for this tour, our morning tea stop was so short barely had time to drink the coffee we ordered. One stop Port side, which let us stretch our legs for what? - there was nothing to really see there. Then off we went again for a whirlwind bus trip, dropping off people to their next connecting tour.....

Tour was very good but the tour company needs to take into consideration where we were located and that we were not familiar with the area and choose a closer meeting point.
