What You Can Expect

Auckland Duck Tour

Auckland City and Harbour

View landmarks in the 'City of Sails' on a 1-hour duck tour, boarding Auckland’s first and only amphibious vehicle opposite the Auckland Ferry Terminal.

Your guide points out premier events venues, such as The Cloud and Shed 10, at Queen’s Wharf, host of the America’s Cup and the Rugby World Cup. Take in the sights around Viaduct Harbour and nearby Wynyard Quarter, and marvel at the Silo Park development — from industrial waterfront to world-class entertainment district.

Arriving at St Mary’s Bay, your vehicle turns into a boat then splashes into the water for a 20-minute ride around Waitemata Harbour. Motor past the super yachts of Westhaven Marina, and admire water views of the city skyline before the duck glides under the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge (if conditions allow).

After the duck finds firm ground again, see landmarks like the Sky Tower and Victoria Park en route to the ferry terminal where your tour ends.

This was enjoyable and the operators very knowledgeable about the area and the marina. Seeing the tallest single mastered ship was awesome. The twilight cruise was great. :

A fun way to view downtown Auckland by road and the marina area by water - most enjoyable.

1 star rating: I do not recommend this January 2017

The tour itself was in the main informative and about the right length of time at an hour but the two guides showed a complete lack of respect to their customers with inappropriate personal remarks and swearing on their microphone headsets, upsetting and embarrassing my party which included two young children and I would expect a number of other customers. In fairness I did write to complain and the Company apologised, advised that they had investigated the matter and taken appropriate action. Lets hope It works!

Been on a few Ducks Singapore, Ketchikan, Seattle and they ALL had lively Drivers and Narrators with music playing and really got everyone involved. Unfortunately the Auckland Duck lacked the WOW factor and was a little lame. The route was OK, it was the experience that was flat. Sorry
