What You Can Expect

Auckland Harbour Lunch Cruise

Lunch Cruise and Sail Auckland Harbour on a Yacht

Meet your boat captain at the Auckland waterfront and be welcomed aboard the spacious vessel where you’re provided with a windproof and waterproof jacket, as well as a safety briefing, before embarking on a 1.5-hour lunch cruise.

As the 50-foot sailing yacht slips through Viaduct Harbour, listen to live commentary on the Auckland area while you watch city landmarks such as the Sky Tower glide past. Pass sailboats in the harbor — host to the Americas Cup — while you’re served a freshly made picnic box lunch; see sample menu below. (In wet weather you may stop at Westhaven Marina for lunch.)

After lunch, sip complimentary coffee or tea, or settle in with a drink available for purchase from the bar, including premium New Zealand wine and beer.

When the crew sets sail through Waitemata Harbour, you have the option of helping to sail the yacht or just relaxing and taking in the sights. Enjoy plenty of photo opportunities before returning to Auckland.

Picnic lunch:
  • Fresh baguette with mustard, chicken and cheddar cheese
  • Vegetarian baguette filled with char-grilled jingle bell peppers, aubergine, fresh basil, rocket and Fiddlers Hill goat cheese
  • Double chocolate brownie
  • Apple or pear (seasonal fruit)

The day was perfect, the 2 crew made us welcome and guided us in steering at the helm.
The bagged lunch was delicious.
In fact the only complaint was 'it was over to soon'

Great way to see Auckland and appreciate the natural beauty of the harbour. Very informative and friendly crew, plus I had chance to steer the boat!

Very pleasant and enjoyable boat trip through the harbor. Having spent many years at the tiller of smaller sailing crafts I was thrilled to take the helm of this boat. I was amazed at the difference in feel. Many interesting site were also pointed out.

Awesome! The cruise is on a 50 foot sailing yacht. They let the passengers steer for awhile. Beautiflu harbout, friendly crew, delicious lunch. A great way to spend a couple of hours in Auckland! If I go back I will try the whale and dolphin cruise.

A fantastic experience! The crew was friendly and fun, and the scenery can't be beat. We actually had the whole boat to ourselves and had chances at the helm and working the lines

The Auckland Harbour Lunch Cruise was great. It did rain the whole time, but it did not put a damper on the cruise. The lunch was satisfying as well. Really worth doing.

The food was terrible, I got a veggie wrap and it was so watery. My partner god the chicken wrap and it was the same. We did have a good time though, even though there was no wind really. The numbers were really small there was only 6 of us so we all got to ask questions and steer the boat. I would defiantly do it again as my partner loves boats so it was worth it for me cause he enjoyed it. The staff were so friendly.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better February 2013

The lunch was in a box and it was more like a sailing lesson.
