We were in Auckland for just one day while on a cruise of Australia/NZ. The hop-on/hop-off bus is a great way to see a lot in a short period of time and then decide where you want to hop off for more exploration. In our case, we researched and booked this tour ahead of time and used it as a way to get to the Auckland Museum to see a Maori cultural performance/haka. The museum also happens to be the stop where you can transfer between the two tour loops, so we made use of that and completed both loops during the course of the day. I should also mention that the company did a very good job in preparing for 3000 cruise ship passengers being in town that day and they arranged for extra city buses that they chartered. So we were never troubled by waiting for a bus and then finding it full and having to wait for another. There were plenty of buses and plenty of seats all day long. Would highly recommend this as an easy way around town.
This was a very nice excursion. the hop on off stopped at the sites we were most interested in and therefore satisfied our sightseeing needs.
The tour was fine. It was a rainy day so was not able to see all the gardens. Liked that it came every 30 minutes instead of every hour. I like the hop on hop off buses as you get a great overview of the city. It was very convenient to the cruise ship terminal.

Well worth doing the Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour. Got to see much of Auckland.
The booking, pick-ups and drop-offs all went very smoothly. Shame the weather didn't assist also, rained most of the day so a few of the stops were non-events as it was too wet to alight from the coach. The drivers on both the blue and red lines were very friendly and had helpful advice for us when we were looking for a specialty shop. A great way to get a general feel for the city of Auckland.
One day to look around Auckland while on a cruise. Get to see quite a lot, enjoyable and scenery fabulous.
This was great as we could get on and off where we wanted but also got to see a lot of Auckland by doing the round trip and much cheaper than the other tours!
Great city, great drivers. Hard to fit it all in though in one day - perhaps longer hours?
This tour was very good very informative and plenty of options available.
A great day out, the drivers were very knowledgeable and seemed to love telling you about the city.
A well organized and professional tour.
Highlights of the tour were Bastion Point and the beautiful Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Gardens,Holy Trinity Cathedral and St Mary's Church,Mt. Eden and the spectacular views from the Sky Tower.
Very convenient way to visit Auckland. My friend and I did both routes and got off the bus at leisure. Auckland was amazing. And buses were prompt and the stop service and drivers were great.
Well run operation.
Wish I had stayed another day and gotten a two day pass.
bus was good seen a lot of auckland and surrounds did blue and red circle on bus
Saw Aquarium.. Loved it.. Weather rainy which dampened the experience . Ha Ha.
A great way to get your bearings. Very well organized, bus drivers are very knowledgeable and professional. The only thing is, I wish that it would run much later than 4:30PM, specially in the middle of the summer. Other than that, it's a great value.
Excellent tour. Buses not always sticking to the timetable when cruise liners in port.
