This is a great way to get to know Auckland - Mike is very knowledgeable, offering great insight into the geology and development of Auckland as we see it today. He offers a very conversational tour, very easy going guy. Be prepared to do some walking it's worth it! Mike offered to take pictures for us at optimal locations too. Highly recommended.
Absolutely fantastic tour and great way to introduce yourself to Auckland and it’s geological and cultural history. Tours are small groups and our guide Mike was very friend and knowledgeable. He takes time get to know everyone on the tour and paces the tour very well. Very fun!
This was a very well thought out tour, that focused on volcanoes in a locale where much of the city was built on volcanoes. As a result, the tour took you to much of the city. Highly recommended, with a lot of different stuff like a beach walk on the afternoon tour. Do both.
This tour gives you a very good understanding of the physical development and history of Auckland. We never really understood the significance of the volcanoes and how they developed and their importance in the historical development of the Maori and British settlement. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable.
Guide was great and very informative. Hiking was great even though it was a little rough in spots for my short legs and overweight body but, completely worth it. This was a different and informative way of seeing Auckland.
