Picked up right at 6:30am Was the first to be picked up. There were 10 people in a 14 person van, so it was good. On the drive to Hobbiton and Vic gave a good overview of the schedule for the day and also Dairy farming in NZ. Spent about 2hrs in Hobbiton and Nathaniel was our guide there. He was awesome. We drove for lunch to Rotorua and be prepared that it smells of rotten eggs. Ate a good Chicken Hangi lunch. Had only 1:15min there total. The Phokutu erupted just 5 min before we were slated to get into the van, but we did see it. Quite impressive. Next we drove to Waitomo caves 18 people in 2 vans and had a good cave tour. Drive back was 2.5hrs and was back in the hotel at 7:45pm
It was excellent and the FlexiTours company that runs it has their connections down to the last details. Excellent trips.
Ahhh MAZING! A super long day and plenty of kms covered but if you're trying to pack as much in into a shprt time frame this is really great. Vic, our tour-guide is a fab guy
This tour is a must for tourists! We had about 2 days to explore New Zealand and this tour covered a lot of grounds. The hotel pick-up was really nice and the tour guides are awesome. We stayed in Auckland and I would really recommend doing this instead of driving to the places. It's a real value.
The time spent in transit was worth it! Our guide, Ramon, was fantastic! This is a great tour if you have limited time as you do get to see a lot! Hobbiton is massive and is great for photo ops, Waitomo is very tranquil and when you and #39;re in Te Puia eat your lunch quickly so you can see everything!
This trip packed in a lot into one day which was perfect for our family. We had only four days in Auckland so this trip was one of the true highlights. The caves and glowworms in Waitomo were truly unique and fascinating. The thermal features and geysers in Roturua were awesome and we were able to see the main geyser erupt - which it does every few hours or so. Lastly, Hobbiton is bigger than your would expect and great for taking pictures. While you spend a fair amount of time on the bus for one day, seeing three great sites in one day makes it worth it. It is an efficient use of time if you are on a schedule. Highly recommended!
Had a great guide that day. So knowledgeable about New Zealand and Auckland. I was in a small group, so we got to have a very personalized trip and the opportunity to ask him many questions.
The Hobbiton set is beautiful. Rotorua Te Puia and the Waitomo Caves are breathtaking natural sights.
My only change would be to have more time at Rotorua to take in the Maori cultural events.
yes, this is so worth the travel time. Everything about this company was top notch.
The tour was very nice! They picked up from the hotel and went to Hobbiton! Amazing place with so many things to see! Must see place! Rotorua was a bit disapointed for us , as expected more colourful sites to see. Time spent there was less than expected , but it is ok . Waitomo caves was the biggest surprice, as expections was very low . The cave was one life experience , as can not see something similar elsewhere.
At the end , with 2 hands recommend this tour , which consist 3 places to visit at one day . Price is ok for what you see!

I'm not a Lord of the Rings fan and I still had a great time! Great tour.
Our driver made exquisite time for all 3 tours and we even had a flight to catch that night. Impeccable service hospitality and worth the price.
I had a limited time in Auckland and this was one of the best decisions I could've made. I got to see all of the highlights, the drivers were very informative and thoughtful, and the experiences themselves were incredible. HIGHLY recommend!
This tour was great. At first I thought it would be too much for one day but the time was managed well. Our tour guide/driver was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and fun.
I was in town for business and only had one free day. I booked this because it took you to 3 different places in one day. So glad I did! They picked me up in a hotel in a great, brand-new van. It fit about 10 people so it felt nice and personal. I will tell you, Hobbiton is a truly magical place and I'm so glad I decided to include it. It sits in someone's farm, and it's the stuff of dreams. It was raining all day, but as soon as we would get off the van, it would stop raining. We were certainly lucky! Then we went to Rotorua, with the hot springs and geysers. I wish we had more time there because there are great lakes to see. After that, we went to see the glow worms, which was also beautiful. The glow worms are certainly a very curious thing, but if I had to pick, I probably would have done something else. Maybe more time in Rotorua? Anyway, I can't wait to go back to discover the rest of New Zealand. It is truly paradise. I believe it is the owner who drove us for the second part of the trip, I can't remember his name but he is very knowledgeable and would talk about different cultural things while we were on the long car rides. As for the other tour guides, they were very nice but unfortunately hard to understand. Since a lot of the time the tourist are international, I suggest you try to modulate and speak slower. Other than that, everything was top notch! Thank you Flexitours! Will absolutely use again when I come back to NZ.
P.S. The price is absolutely reasonable, considering the ticket prices for Hobbiton, lunch included, the long transportation times and the tickets to the Waitomo caves where the glow worms are. Great bang for your buck!
Time is ticking loud everytime you sit in that comfortable coach. I really wish a day had more hours. Hobbiton and Waitomo took the time they needed and both will blow your mind away. But considering the time factor we only got to spend an hour (excluding 20 min lunch) and this was injustice2Rotorua
It's a good trip. went to 3 places in one day. can't find such tour in the market !
Well done Philip - our guide for the day.
Great trip! Covered a range of activities on the North Island, all appealing to different tastes and interests. Tour guide was excellent and we were kept safe and confortable throughout the day. Timely return after a big, worthwhile day.
This was a great trip. We were on a tight schedule and this was a great way to see a lot of things in a short time. The Tour guide was amazing and gave a lot of information. All of the tours themselves were awesome. It is a very very long day but it's well worth it.
If you only have one day to tour, this is the one you want. Is it a long day? Absolutely, but it is well worth it. You get a great overview of the region and our guide, Ron, was funny and extremely informative. The time at Hobbiton and Waitomo is not rushed at all, you get the full experience... the time in Rotorua is only at Te Puia Cultural center, home of the Pohutu geyser... there is time to just see all the geothermal activity, but that was what I wanted so it was fine by me. side note... if you have two days to tour, I would do Rotorua as a single day and still combine Hobbiton and Waitomo
This tour was great because it covered three major highlights of the North Island. We only had one full day in New Zealand, so we wanted to see as much as we could. This tour enabled us to do this without having to worry about transportation or tickets. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and provided us with a lot of other interesting information about Auckland an New Zealand while we were driving between sites.
Previous reviews have been spot on. It is a long but rewarding day for those with limited time in NZ. Hobbiton was beautiful, blessed by blue skies on a winters day. Our driver guides Ron and Nic were great and very informative about all aspects of NZ.
Great tour! Keeley out tour director was great. She gave us ample time to take photos and was very accomodating when asked to be the photographer. Really enjoyed this tour!
Great way to see some of the big sites all in one day. Our tour guide was very organized and informative about the area. It is a long day doing all attractions but worth it!
