Your scenic seaplane flight takes off in the morning or afternoon from Waitemata Harbour to Waiheke Island, where you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner.
Following a safety briefing, board the De Havilland Beaver aircraft and slip on the provided radio headset to hear your pilot's narration during a memorable aerial tour over Auckland, coined the ‘City of Sails.’ After an exciting water take-off, gaze down at the boats and city skyline while soaring above.
Your pilot points out key landmarks during the flight, including Auckland Harbour Bridge and the impressive Sky Tower that stands 1,076 feet (328 meters) high. As you fly overhead, appreciate the breathtaking vista over the Hauraki Gulf and Pacific Ocean, passing just 500 feet (150 meters) above the crater of the Rangitoto volcano and neighboring Motutapu Island.
Splashing down near the shores of Waiheke Island, you’ll disembark at the quaint harbor-side village of Oneroa. From the beach, you are transferred to the renowned Oyster Inn for your 3-course à la carte meal featuring Waiheke Island’s freshest seasonal produce, seafood and shellfish. Pair Te Matuku Bay oysters, fresh-caught local fish and other dishes with a glass of sparkling wine (additional drinks are available for purchase).
After your meal, simply transfer to the ferry with a provided ticket back to downtown Auckland.
Ferries run into the night, giving you plenty of time to explore Waiheke Island’s artisan boutiques and vista points that overlook the Hauraki Gulf and the Coromandel Peninsula.
