This was truly a wonderful experience! My husband and I really liked the Glow worm caves tour and the entire tour at the Maori Cultural Arts center. When you think about how Mother Nature creates these special places for us to see is pretty amazing. The boat ride in the cave while being steered in the dark by an employee under the glow worms was like you were in another world. This is definitely a must see when visiting NZ! Racheal our driver was the highlight! She was very knowledgeable about the history of NZ and shared her experiences living there. Racheal kept us entertained throughout the entire ride. By far this was one of the best tours I have ever been on. I highly suggest booking this tour!!

Our driver/guide was Rachael, and we were very entertained by the informative and amusing dialogue along the way. The glowworm cave was unbelievable, and the geysers and the geothermal mud pits are a must see for New Zealand. We also did the Agrodome, and the sheep sheering and rounding up were great. I do wish we had more time at each site rather than such a rush that we didn't even have time to look at the gift shops. Overall, we truly enjoyed this tour, and recommend it to anyone, including families with kids who are at least grade school age.

This will be long day of excursions with a lot of driving but it is worth every . Our driver was very talkative very informative but got me a little tired after 90min uninterrupted talking at the beginning... does he breathe thru the ears??? -. First stop: impressive Waitomo cave with glowworms 1h. The highlight is the way out on the boat in complete darkness, with the glowworms shining above you like a sky full of stars. Wow! Then you munch the sandwich box at/on the bus well, not very tasty but okay- if you are picky, BYO sandwich, fruit etc. and another 1.5h ride to Rotorua where we are split up in groups according to the chosen activity. I was the only one going to the Polynesian Spa maybe because it costs 70 more, but since it was a very rainy and grey day this was the perfect activity. Unfortunately I had only 1h to soak in the 5 different hot pools and enjoy the view onto the Lake Rotorua, maybe 30min more would have been more relaxing. The other activities Agrodome farm- take care that when travelling back to the US and Canada they ask you on the customs form if you have been on a farm! the Skyline gondola- almost no view due to rain are very weather dependent. After this we went to Te Puia to see a very interesting Maori concert Haka dance etc. and walked to the geysirs and mud pools. Very nice. Then another afternoon sandwich well, well..., and the long ride back to Auckland 2.5h after a long day. Our driver said that this tour covers 600 km, so we were something like 6-7h in the bus. If you visit Auckland only for a few days I highly recommend this tour if you have more time- take the first part of the tour up to Rotorua, stay there overnight and explore the city looks nice, spend a little longer at the hot pools, include the Hobbiton tour nearby not included here- I did this on a separate day, and then take a bus back on the next day. This is much more relaxed.

This was a great tour and our tour guide was informative and fun! Rotorua is an awesome place to visit. We loved learning about the geothermal activity and seeing the geysers in action. Visiting the Maori village was also very interesting .. especially watching the Haka performance. It was a jam-packed day and a worthwhile trek from Auckland!

The only small glitch was that our confirmation indicated hotel pickup, but when we didn't see the bus come on time... we got concerned and called and they let us know they had switched the pickup location to somewhere else however they had forgotten to confirm this with us. They apologized for the error and sent a cab to pick us up. However in the meantime we did panic a little! It did all work out in the end .. so .. moral of the story, double check with your booking agent about the pickup location. The tour itself is amazing!!! Highly recommended!

Enjoyed the caves. Meeting the bus was a little confusing as the meeting point was at the bus terminal. This was a large group tour but well organized
