Discover another side of Austin on a 2.5-hour Segway tour that features bats and ghosts. Offered from March to October, this nighttime ride through downtown Austin visits haunted hotels and buildings, famous landmarks, and the world’s largest urban bat colony. See the Texas State Capitol Building, Lady Bird Lake, Austin Convention Center, the 6th Street Entertainment district, Moonlight Towers, and more
  • 2.5-hour Segway tour of Austin's bats and ghosts
  • Learn to ride a Segway in a few easy steps
  • Hear the ghostly tales behind Austin's historic buildings
  • Look for bats from the huge bat colony at the Congress Avenue Bridge
  • See landmarks including the Texas State Capitol building and Austin Convention Center
After making your own way to downtown Austin, meet your guide and receive an introduction to the Segway.
Have time to practice the controls for the Segway, then follow your guide into Austin’s streets once you are ready, which generally takes only a few minutes.
Your guide shows your hotels and buildings that are rumored to be haunted and shares their ghostly histories. You'll also stop by landmarks including the The Texas State Capitol Building — an Italian Renaissance Revival-style building with 22 acres (8 hectares) of gardens, Lady Bird Lake, and the165-foot (50 m) high Moonlight Towers, one of the world's only remaining light towers.
Stop at the Congress Avenue Bridge to look for residents of North America’s largest urban bat colony: about 2 million Mexican free-tailed bats that migrate every year to the southwestern United States from central Mexico.
You'll also pass through the 6th Street Entertainment District and hear about Austin's lively music and arts scene. Have time to stop along the way for great photo ops of the highlights of the Texas capital.

This wash my first time on a segway. I was nervous at first but the tour guide was very helpful. It was so much fun. I encourage everyone to try this in all major cities, it is a great way to get around and a great way to see the sites. Fun with a group of people or by yourself. Enjoy yourself !!!!!

This was a lot of fun, it was our first time on the segways, but interesting to hear about haunted Austin.
Too bad the bats had already gone but it was still great.

This is fun! I've never rode a segway but the guide was attentive to my learning curb When we went the weather wasn't right for the bats so not that may came out under the bridge. Still a beautiful tour and great photo opportunities.

Fun way to view Austin at night, but didn't know until we arrived that the bats had left town in September for the winter.

Great fun. John was a great tour guide and teacher. Never on a Segway before. Comfortable after a minute with his instructions. Great guy. Excellent tour. Despite the rain falling on the way to the tour, no rain during the tour. All went well. Most fun I have had in a long time. Look forward to my next Segway tour.

Bryan, our tour guide, was friendly, humorous, and patient. I enjoyed the stories he told about Austin history and haunted buildings. Riding the seaways was fun and easy. Of course, you have to be careful and listen to Bryan. The bats did not come out, but that was ok. I plan to take this tour again in case the bats do come out.
