What To Expect

After making your own way to downtown Austin, meet your guide and receive an introduction to the Segway.

Have time to practice the controls for the Segway, then follow your guide into Austin’s streets once you are ready, which generally takes only a few minutes.

Your guide shows your hotels and buildings that are rumored to be haunted and shares their ghostly histories. You'll also stop by landmarks including the The Texas State Capitol Building — an Italian Renaissance Revival-style building with 22 acres (8 hectares) of gardens, Lady Bird Lake, and the165-foot (50 m) high Moonlight Towers, one of the world's only remaining light towers.

Stop at the Congress Avenue Bridge to look for residents of North America’s largest urban bat colony: about 2 million Mexican free-tailed bats that migrate every year to the southwestern United States from central Mexico.

You'll also pass through the 6th Street Entertainment District and hear about Austin's lively music and arts scene. Have time to stop along the way for great photo ops of the highlights of the Texas capital.

Had an amazing time on this tour! Our tour guide Kelsie was friendly, informative, and extremely helpful when teaching us how to ride the Segway. I highly recommend doing this tour to see the beautiful streets (and bats) of Austin!

The ride through the city via segway allows you to see it from a different view. Very nice! Seeing the bats was a nice perk!

I didn't enjoy the ghost stories. I thought they took too long and weren't very entertaining. Our guide was lovely and kind and the Segways are fun!

My wife and I with our 3 oldest Grand Children took the tour with Kelsie and had a blast, it was the highlight of our trip. Kelsie is the best, he made everyone feel comfortable and kept all of us safe and upright. If you don’t do anything else when your in Austin, definitely DO THIS!!

Kelsie gave a great tour,he was very knowledgeable able the city and clearly has a love of the city of Austin. He was very polite and respectful not only to us but the people we past on the street. He gave you plenty of time to get comfortable with the Segway before heading out. The only disappointment was the bats not leaving their young, so we didn't get to see the mass exit. We have no control over nature so I feel should not reduce in stars at all.

Alice gave us a personal and up close tour of downtown Austin. She was informative and funny. It was interesting to hear the different ghost stories of the mini hauntings that seem to have happened around Austin, Texas. It was also very interesting to learn how the city of Houston tried to become the capital of Texas.. It was a little too windy for the bats, but we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Fast Way to see the city

We had done a taster session on a Segway in Singapore and loved it and thought this would be a good way to see the city. There was 8 of us in the group and our guide was fantastic. He let us have a test drive of the Segway to get used to it prior to leaving. He was very knowledgeable on the journey and ensured the group were all still behind him and everyone was ok. We stopped at a convenience store which was great to get a cold drink as it was really warm even in the evening. The only disappointing part was we were expecting to see quite a few thousand bats and we were were lucky to see a few hundred. I'm not sure why we didn't see many that evening. We had great spots on the bridge and were still able to take some pics but hearing about a million bats that live under the bridge and not seeing that many is disappointing. however I know with animals you cant force them to come out and we were happy to still have saw a few hundred. Unfortunately nearly at the end of our tour someone stopped in front of me and I was going a bit quick and tried to turn to avoid crashing into them and ended up falling wit the Segway. The guide was fantastic. He came over to me immediately. Checked I was ok, gave me 1st aid and ensured I was ok to go back on the Segway to return. I was more concerned I had damaged the Segway but he assured me the Segway was fine. Guide was very knowledgeable, fantastic and ensured all our safety during the tour. Really enjoyed the tour and the freedom of being on the Segway's whizzing across the city. Defo would do again, defo would recommend and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves even if my hip and elbow didn't agree haha.

We were a 55 year old, a late forties person and a 16 year old. The Segway class was excellent. The tour was the perfect amount of time, the safety directions were clear, the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because I wish they had spent less time describing the party destinations and more time describing the architecture, art, and history —- not a lot— just a little would have been fine. Otherwise everything else was 5 stars. I highly recommend this tour.
