Journey back in time to historic Provence on this half-day tour from Avignon. Visit the UNESCO-listed Pont du Gard – a towering Roman aqueduct – and the rugged hilltop village of Les Baux de Provence to wander and explore key sites like St Vincent Church, Hôtel des Porcelets and the ruins of Baux’s medieval castle. Then continue to other perched villages like beautiful Gordes and Rousillion (this stop available with upgrade).
With your guide and driver on hand to show the way, discover some of southern France’s finest gems. Marvel at the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Pont du Gard Aqueduct and explore the pretty village of Les Baux de Provence.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day tour of the Roman viaduct and three hill towns. We were especially pleased with your tour guide, Jeremy, who went out of his way to accommodate us, even calling in to allow us to be transported back to our hotel in Arles. The only unforeseen glitch was a two hour delay due to an accident on the main highway. We enjoyed every minute of the time, even the waiting in traffic.
Great afternoon in Provence-all the villages were interesting and we had some free time in each one. The highlight was the Pont du Gard an amazing engineering feat! Our guide, Remy, was terrific and our small group of 8 meant we weren't waiting around for people at each stop
The tour was very good and our guide was great. This tour gave the background of the areas. I t allowed me to see more and would be better able to choose one or two spots to revisit.
Violet was wonderful, competent, and informative. We would highly recommend this tour especially if you are not traveling with a car.
A fabulous itinerary. My only suggestion would be to make it a full day tour with more time especially at the castle. The guide was excellent.
Went to beautiful sights in Provence while staying in Avignon. The tour was the highlight.
I highly recommend this tour for people who only have half day to explore Provence.
I took this half-day tour with 8 others in a mini-bus. Our driver and guide, Marc was very informative about Provence and chatted about it on our way to three sites: Pont du Gard, and the delightful villages of Gordes and Les Baux de Provence. For me the highlight was Pont du Gard which I have wanted to see for a long time, built by the Romans as part of the aqueduct serving Nimes. The two villages contrast each other and were memorable. Sufficient time was allowed for us to explore each of the sites and Marc gave us good advice regarding what to see as we independently explored the sites. Our tour was on a Monday so it omitted the village of Rousillon, which was a pity, but I only had the Monday free in Avignon. There is around 1 hour driving between each of the sites but this time was used by Marc to impart knowledge of Provence and to answer questions. This was a good tour, considering the time limit of half a day. The tour left me feeling hungry to see more of Provence, and a full-day tour might have been better if I had had the time but at least I did get the flavour of the place and had a good time. Marc advised us that private tours can be taken and these can be tailored around the wishes of the clients - not a bad idea.

Best tour of our trip! Worth doing when in Avignon!
It was exactly what I was looking for; transport, a little local info and time to explore independently.
