A great way to see the highlights of Provence... The guide was flexible and adjusted the itinerary to what the group wanted to do. Very pleasant day.
Emmanuel was a wonderful guide with lots of knowledge about the region. The tour took us to historic sites, amazing villages perched on cliff tops, a market town, the lovely Fontaine de Vaucluse and finished with a drink in a charming town.
Thierry, our guide was very good and accommodating. The number of sites we visited did not allow for too much time at each, but Thierry did his best to not rush anyone.
If you are not time constrained, this tour is well worth it
This was a great tour. Our guide was pleasant and very knowledgeable. We were able to wander at our leisure at the various sites and given alternatives about what we wanted to see for instance, we chose to see the hospital where Van Gogh had stayed, rather than do more shopping at Saint Remy. We stopped at all the places listed in the description.
We had the best time on this tour with Emmanuel. Very organised and knew exactly where to take us for the best photos and quickest wait times. he was heaps of fun too.
Our guide Thierry was amazing, his knowledge of the area was exceptional. Thierry also arranged a booking at a restaurant in Fontaine de Vaucluse placed right on the river it was picture perfect. Recommend this tour as a must do.
This was a truly beautiful tour, only 5 people in the minivan, so very personal. Terry was our guide and he was fantastic. The towns chosen for us to visit in Provence were truly breathtaking and we were given ample free time to explore and take plenty of photos. We were given advice on some nice restaurants for lunch in Roussillion and had plenty of time to eat. Terry made sure he told us about the history of the towns which was great, interesting and really informative. We were dropped back right outside our apartment which was really nice. Thankyou Viator for a fantastic day!!!!!
This was a great way to see a lot of sights in a short space of time. Our group was small with just one other South Australian couple and our very experienced and knowledgeable guide Thiery. All of the stops were fascinating in thier own way and Thiery's knowledge added context which was great. I reccomend that anyone take this tour, the combination of beautiful perched villages and historical marvels made for a memorable experience. Thanks Thiery.
Thiery our driver and guide was absolutely outstanding. It was only my husband and I on the trip and Thiery's knowledge of the area was exceptional. Because of mountain fog he reversed the order of the trip and we started with Pont du Gard and finished with the mountain villages as the fog had cleared in the afternoon. The village of Fontaine de Vaucluse with the spring, the hilltop villages Gordes, Rousillon and we also enjoyed visiting the Abbey. Thiery drove us through the tiny roads and let us take many photographs, he went the extra mile to give us a fabulous day. We would recommend A this driver/guide. Thank you Thiery. We chose this tour because it seemed very comprehensive and we were not disappointed. Thierry our tour leader was exceptional. He had an in-depth knowledge of Provence which he communicated in a charming manner and he genuinely wanted us to have the best possible experience. He certainly went the extra mile. We will recommend this tour to everyone. Lynda H, and Maureen T Sept 2016
This was great! We were the only people on the tour, so was very personal. Our guide, Connie, was awesome. She knew so much, drove those tiny roads so well, and was just fun! She went out of her way to show us everything.
This is a really good tour to give an overview of Provence. Each of the villages we visited were quite different from each other. Or guide, JB, was excellent and provided a lot of useful information together with interesting local legends. We were very pleased that we were given the opportunity to visit the Carrieres De Lumieres light show at Les Baux de Provence. It was fantastic.
Tour went to several interesting places. Very worthwhile despite the weather a few heavy showers...The tour guide was very helpful especially when one of us could not make it at the last moment and he organised an alternative tour for her next day.
A good introduction to Provence. Enough time allowed at each site with plenty of walking. Our guide Georgio was charming and well-informed. Overall an excellent experience and good value.

This was, by far, the best tour my family, 6 adults, took on our trip to France! It is lengthy, but walking was interspersed with driving, so that we were never exhausted, and the diversity of what we got to see was so varied, that there was one source of amazement after another! Our tour guide, Jean Baptiste, was Fabulous, and we hope to tour with him, again, in the future! He was so knowledgeable about the culture, history, food, and wines, and was very entertaining, as well! All this served to whet our appetite for another visit to this beautiful region!
Thierry was an incredible guide, making a whirlwind trip that could have been stressful a delightful and beautiful experience. There is no other way we would have been able to absorb so much of the gorgeous countryside otherwise, and was definitely the highlight of our time in Provence.
I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide knew a lot and spoke English well. Here's some details of our day.
- 45 min in Fontaine de Vaucluse. The village has a stream with crystal clear water.
- Stopping at two view points, with a view of Gordes and a monestary.
- About 30 min in beautiful Gordes.
- Stopping by a lavender field, really nice view though the lavender was not in full bloom yet beginning of June.
- Rousillon, my favourite place of the day. About 90 min, enough to have lunch and look around. There's an Ochre Path with amazing yellow, orange and red cliffs, rocks and ground. It costs a bit, but it's worth it, even if you don't have a lot of time. We walked a little and then had to go back, but there's amazing views right in the beginning. If you eat quickly, you'll have time to see the path and the village with very pretty colorful houses.
- Stopped to buy berries and other local products from a small stall by the side of the road.
- In Saint Rémy de Provence we had an option to either walk around in the village or visit an old monastery, where Van Gogh stayed when it was used as an asylum. All of us chose the monastery, which was an interesting place. About 30 min there.
- 30 min in Les Baux de Provence, which is a nice old village, but it seemed that there's not much there except tourist shops.
- Pont du Gard, 30-45 min. We couldn't go in from the first side we tried, because of an event organised there later. We drove to the other side, which made us late from the schedule, but luckily it wasn't a problem to anyone. At the site there were rude security guards who only spoke French telling people not go to some of the places, they were closed because of the event. That was annoying, because those spots would have had a good view to the aqueduct. If the tour organizer had known about the event, we could have maybe gone there earlier, or at least saved some time by going to the other side right away. Other than that the tour was great!
Amazing tour. Our guide Terry was great. His objective was that we visit all the tour had to offer and we had some roadblocks as it was the festivities of the first day of Summer
We loved our day touring this beautiful area of Provence. We found something different and breathtaking around every corner. Our guide, Julie, was absolutely fabulous. We loved our interaction with her and we loved her knowledge of the area. The highlight of the day for us was Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. This was an absolute treasure. We were given plenty of time at each of the stops, including time to have a beautiful lunch at Roussillon, with a great view from a restaurant to match. This is a long day and we did tire a little toward the end, but it was not too much. We would do this again and we thank Julie for giving us a wonderful day.
My daughter and her husband, a friend and I enjoyed a wonderful day with Jacques as he showed us some of the delights of villages surrounding Avignon. Unfortunately the weather was a bit uncooperative that day, and we couldn't linger in the outdoors as we might have liked however, Jacques was personable, knowledgeable, and very attentive to our needs and wishes. The particular villages visited are absolutely beautiful and this was a tour I would happily repeat in better weather! Totally worth it!
Fantastic--although I did have to make believe about what the area would look like with the flowers in bloom. Our guide did a very nice job of describing the area to us. He picked us up very close to our hotel and dropped us off there at the end of our tour. This tour was very relaxing and so informing.
My wife and I cannot recommend this trip enough! It was the highlight of our time in Europe! It was so great to have a small van load of people, instead of a big bustling tour bus, and Serg was an amazing tour guide. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to work with us at every stop to do what was best and gave us the right amount of time.
The Provence countryside is simply breathtaking! Our day it was even a little cloudy, but the towns are quite splendid, and this tour helps to give you a sense of the entirety of the region. If you want to see a lot in Provence, but don't have a lot of time, then this is certainly the most bang for your buck!
Wonderful day trip with our excellent driver and guide Jacques. Every village was beautiful, stunning views and best of all Jacques was so informative and friendly. Cannot recommend him highly enough. Anyone can rattle of facts but we felt we made a friend. The visit to the Pont du Gard was a grand finale to remember. Thank you Jacques
The full day itinerary took us to places that would have been difficult for us to see without a car. The wealth of information given to us by our guide, Julian, made the trip very informative. He gave us great insight not just for the lovely towns and area we visited, but background knowledge of France. He was respectful of all on the tour, had a great sense of humor. The day was thoroughly enjoyable.
