You're dropped off early so you can enjoy the happy hour to watch the sunset with a bunch of other people. The dinner was good, but I wish they would have served local style food instead of Western.

I really enjoyed this. The view from the tower is amazing specially if it is during sunset, but if you've done the ballooning it does not add much to what you've already seen.
This was super well organised, taxi was there on time for pick up and drop off and staff at the tower were very polite and flexible with my requests.
Unfortunately the set menu was a bit too westernised for my tastes and it did not fit well in a solo traveller agenda, as most of the other guests were couples. Can't complain about the food though, it was tasty and beautifully presented.

Highly recommended for couples who want to have a relaxed time. If you are not keen on the meal, just go to the tower by yourself as it is open to the public in general.

You get a great view of the sunset but the tower was too high and there's not a lot of temples/pagodas view in front of the sunset. I think you will get better pictures postcard view at Shesandaw and Pyathada although expect the crowd. Here, there is no crowd. The dinner served was great. It was my favorite part of this tour.

I am sorry I have to give 1 star to this tour, I would give 0 if I could - this star here belongs solely to the attentive staff named Nan Ko who deserved the whole 5 stars for his professional service.
So I booked this tour on Nov 30 for Dec 31's New Year's Eve dinner stating I needed no pick up from my hotel coz my guide would send me there from Mount Popa after our visit there. And I asked via the Viator system about when my guide needed to send me to the Tower for the sunset dinner coz I didn't know if this was a group thing there might be a schedule to follow or not. I didn't get a reply.
When I was in Bagan with my guide I asked her to help call the number given in the voucher a few times on Dec 27 and 28 but to no avail. So on Dec 31 with my voucher I went to the Tower at 5pm hoping to catch the sunset in time, the staff didn't know about this booking. After they exchanged in local language, a staff pulled me aside and told me I could only do the Western set menu if I wanted to have dinner here. Puzzled, and worried the the sunset would have been gone during this negotiation although it was raining there was no chance for sunset views, I could only say yes coz the agency staff was not present to sort out the situation while the dinner was already paid for with the transportation! Turned out the restaurant was actually closed for business on Dec 31! And Tower staff Nan Ko was so kind to arrange while I was taking photos on the top floor, to open the restaurant just for me! That's why I must choose only the Western set dinner for their kitchen arrangement for only 1 guest...!
So I spent my NYE dinner here, alone, in the restaurant, in almost complete darkness only my table area had lights on all other areas were lights off, with no other people around, not to mention the festive atmosphere on NYE!
And since my guide could not reach the agency staff prior to confirm my return transport, she arranged her driver to wait for me during my dinner to send me back to hotel after. The Tower staff never rushed me and they still served me professionally with a genuine smile - but still I tried to finish quick so that I did not make the Tower staff stay late just for me. It was the most bizarre NYE dinner I have ever had. I wish I could get a respond from them at least if not a refund. Did they not call the Tower restaurant to confirm it is even open?
And the Tower still provided me good food although it is not my preferred choice of food for the night. Applause once again to Nan Ko for making it happen!
